Manchester.

Really pees me off.

Every year we get this shallow arrogant BBC London attitude and a Northerner bashing in this show.

"There always behind London- its still a place where you have to ware shoes in clubs"

yeah and? its called not looking a scruff

Don't go looking in the "The Apprentice 2010 Series 6 Week 5 3rd Nov " thread if you think the episode was north-bashing. Hardly got started before posters were at it.

I was born & brought up in London. I`ve no idea what he was on about when he went on about ``they`re still wearing shoes in clubs in Manchester`. Here in the south we have to put up with derogatory remarks from the North but we don`t make an issue out of them. I suggest that you get rid of the chip on your shoulder.

Better to rise above such comments, they only make the person saying them look like a fool. Trying being from the Midlands, you soon get a thick skin as you tend to get derogatory comments from everyone!

There are some very sensitive posters on this topic. Have people lost their sense of humour?

I actually though they were being quite kind to Northerners when they suggested that they were only 2 years behind in the fashion stakes.

Good comment.

I imagine a certain Adam Hosker is the one most likely to be strongly offended by Jamie's comment.

Eh? we're bang-up to the minute in the fashion stakes- right now we're all wearing Lady Gaga meat dresses and telephones on our heads

It is a bit of a bizarre comment though- I've never been to a club in Manchester that expects you to wear shoes...

I quite like the banter between the north and south, Scots and English etc. Surely we are allowed to comment on how the other half live without the PC brigade jumping on us. P.S All Southerners are twonks!

Hey!
I am a person who has lived up North for over twenty years. I am only twenty mintutes away by car from the Trafford Centre. As a Southerner I visit London frequently.
To shop in the Trafford Centre is just as expensive.
Two miles of concourse upper deck and lower. Cinema's, fabulous eateries for specialising in food over the world, it boasts any regular large high street stores and a branch of Selfridges.
We go to the Trafford Centre for a day out. Don't buy much from the expensive stores but enjoy the restaurants/cafeterias, free entertainment and cinema.
Christmas lighting is a must see and every bit as good as the Blackpool Illuminations (which are fabulous this year by the way.)
The promo pitch site that Alex suggested was not in a bad position. But in relation to where their shop was located it was maybe too far away.
I do think that the party dress choice was a good idea but don't forget that the Trafford Centre is quite upmarket too.
Recycled clothes were never giong to be a hit there.

I supposed it's no worse than what we think of Londoners.

What with them working on dodgy market stalls, only eating jellied eels, and listening to Chas & Dave all the time...
