Did anyone else think Nick was talking rubbish this week?

He is spot on now and then, but this week, I thought he missed the point completely on a couple of issues, imo.

First was when he slammed LIz's team for not marketing enough. Well, it's true they were not high on presentation, but after the other team got that slot on the shopping centre's TV channel, what else could they have done? They couldn't have claimed their own slot after that and I actually thought they did their best under the circumstances.

Also, what was all that about Alex being over-effused, and being "not totally irritating, but quite"? If anything, I think Alex has been one of the most consistent and level-headed team member in the past weeks - the mistake he made this week is the only thing he's really done wrong so far, and even so, he made the best out of a bad job afterwards. The others seem to like him, it was Paloma who was causing the friction surrounding him.

I wonder if the editors are setting Nick up - just to take the p*ss out of him. They probably do now and then.

I think Nick became lost where he was as he was betwitched by Paloma's good charms and look, so he said anything.

I think re : Alex he meant more in his approach to the public. From what we've seen of his sales technique on the show (yelling through a megaphone, approaching people waving cardboard, pumping his fist about at terrifying speed), and the results he's got in direct sales (outside of business meetings) he's been pretty poor.

I can see how he could have created an atmosphere which would discourage people from approaching the store, but then again, you could say the same about Christopher and Joanna I guess.

I usually (sometimes) respect Nick's opinion (no, seriously!) but I thought him telling Paloma that she was a very strong candidate on You're Fired was a bit odd... She didn't grasp the concept of enough is enough during the bakery task and she messed up the exclusivity in Soho thing - both fairly major mistakes, which she didn't seem to learn from. She was a strong salesperson but almost needed someone behind her every time to tell her what the terms of each sale could be.

I think by over effusing, Nick meant he gets rather excited, and goes on about something a bit too long. One of those people who have to have the last word in an arguement, even when the other has conceeded.

Not sure the choice of promotional pitch was that bad. It was supposedly very close to the other team. If Alex is right and that's a busy spot, makes sense to deny the other team such a huge advantage. Also you are covering a larger area of shoppers rather than just those in that part of the centre.

Alex maybe a bit Lorraine like, but he's so far shown more sense, awareness and team working than she did. Guess they'll kill him at interviews

Sadly I think that's the way the editing is going for him. I see him more like Howard and Lohit than Lorraine though. Nice guy, generally soild performer, extremely useful to any team, but just not AS apprentice material.

I suggested Lorraine as I've this feeling there's a back story going to come out. And this is the guy that seemed to imply he thought of the Bendy Bus. So either a bit delusional or trying to be funny/wacky/notice-meee in a James sort of way. But I agree, you'd want him on your team. Come the final I'd expect him to be picked early.

I can't stand Nick. Every time it shows him he looks like he's trying to do a poo. He became known for his facial expressions, eye brows and sour face, so now that's all he ever does. I find him really fake and trying to act up to this image.

Margaret was much more real and honest. I like Karren Brady as a replacement, but wish she'd replaced Nick!

Karen Brady is a complete waste of space.
