Candidates who surprised me this week...

First of all Laura, who has often been dismissed as a useless whinger (she does whinge a lot though) was actually decent this week. She did a good job selling and bringing people in, and gave a good presentation for the video. I'm not saying she's a textbook winner or a strong candidate, but she's done enough to help her survive for a couple more weeks - or at least prove she's not completely useless.

Chris, who I thought (and still think) as being basically a narcissistic prat, proved that he is a good salesperson. With his previous win as PM, he is building a good record for himself. He literally said that very loudly to everyone after he sold that dress. He has gone up in my personal estimation of him - but that's still pretty low.

Alex has usually been a good performer, but his retailing campaign had mixed results. Although it wasn't the main reason why his team lost (he did make the best out of it as time went on), I did expect him to do better. I still quite like him and think there's something there - but I don't think he'll win.

Stella meanwhile, has, after reservations in week 2, surprisingly and comfortably settled in to her role as the team model.

I find Laura fickle. One minute she was lambasting Paloma for setting Alex up for a fall, the next she was joining in with making him a scapegoat.

Stella seems to do nothing but model. I've not seen her sell, negotiate or pitch yet.

And I still regard Chris as a poor salesmen. He has an awful monotone voice. He was lucky.

Even if Paloma went she did surprise me this week, a lot better with people than I would expect although was so rude in the boardroom that she was never going to succeed. None of the others actually surprised me, I don't think anyone really excelled.

I still think Stella is the strongest candidate, she always has a good attiude on the tasks. No complaining just gets on with it and tries to make the best of a situation. Obvious tonight when her and Jamie saw the TV advert for the other team and she just got going and carried on.

Paloma did set Alex up, but I don't think he has ever really been a strong candidate. He talks a good game though.

StuBaggs (TM) was uncharacteristically quiet this week - although there was the usual self-puff about being a good salesman. Still, It was probably for the best that he was kept inside his hoodie while the others got on!

I personally find Alex VERY false.
Doesn't help that he talks like a politician but the way he came back from the boardroom in the first week and celebrated like he had just scored the winning goal in a football match was very cringeworthy. I thought 'Who on earth is that?' It was very out of character, and since then whenever he goes on one of his speeches I find him totally disingenuous.

Stella is my fave candidate still. She seems the most real, and not just a cardboard cut-out. Even though she may pick up the name 'Stunning Stella' if she keeps showing off her modelling abilities.
