Do you guess by the way his finger is pointing whoh is going out? I close my eyes or change the channel so it doesn't ruin it for me but my brother pays close attention to his finger to see where he is pointing either to the right, middle or left

well on the Irish Apprentice the producers sometimes flip the film so we're seeing it from the opposite angle. I imagine that is standard practice for the english one too

I don't really worry too much about the direction he's pointing or looking in, but there are occasional clues in what he says. I'm only going from memory, but the preview clip ahead of this week's firing hinted someone had mouthed off or got aggressive, which narrowed down the field of candidates somewhat. I thought at the time it would be Lady P, and there you go...

You do get the impression of the ones he is not keen on when he speaks to them in the board room each week.
