In our TV's case the TV spends several seconds being black and locking up to the changed resolution on certain channel changes. So I'm resigned to some seconds of disruption when I switch.
Who would actually care about missing some seconds of promos before the news and headlines begin?
The nice idea is providing the viewer with a one-button solution (and a reminder).
