Foxsat-HDR Tuning Problems
I thought I would retune last night for BBC 1 HD and did a factory reset. When restarting it went into the usual searching for channels but came up with "cant find signal" then " cant verify postcode".
As mentioned Manual Appendix 14.2 number 2 I tried Manual Tune and set to 11428 H 27599 A but no signal was detected. I then left the manual tune to “All” and it detected about 400 channels including most of the Freesat channels. It seems to detect most transponders except the one I want which remains blank. I imagine this must be a tuning problem with the box as it picks up all the other transponders and not the LNB, what do you think before I buy a new box. |

The box yesterday should have done a autotune on power-up and added BBC1 HD.
Perhaps your dish has shifted a bit and is not seing Eurobird which I think transmits the Freesat EPG. http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html Automan. |

Your transponder details are incorrect in this posting. When the box attempts to verify your postcode the signal strength and quality is displayed on the sceeen. Can you try usimg manual tune and add the 11427 H 27500 2/3 at the end of the list and look what the signal strength and quality is ? |

Thanks for your reply.
11427 H 27500 2/3 is not listed. 11426 V 27500 A S=90% Q=20% 11428 H 27500 A S=0 Q=0 11469 H 27500 A S=0 Q=0 11488 V 27500 A S=85% Q=40% 11508 H 27500 A S=85% Q=30% I would add that everthing worked fine till I tried the retune. |

Download this htm file and open it in your browser and check S & Q for the EB1 transponders. http://www.4shared.com/document/baZ3...icMK2_011.html The above Q is very low for instance 11508 on mine is S 100% Q 90%. You can add any transponder to the built in list by pressing the left arrow to get the screen that allows you to add transponders |

Thanks for your help. I have asked my local Sat man to have a look at the dish alignment. I will report back when fixed (I hope)

I am my local sat man, and have this exact problem. My meter detects hotbird, my HDR will not. As we speak, it is searching for the sat signal, after a factory reset. It's been doing that for 15 minutes. I wonder if we have a box fault.
Further to my problem, it won't tune at all, and says I have no satellite signal, yet 20 minutes ago I was watching ITV HD. |

Are you at the postcode verification screen in freesat mode, what does the sig strength and quality say. If you are trying to get hotbird using manual tune you will have to manually add the transponder details only 28.2/28.5E are in the database. Bit lost here Freesat and Sky don't use Hotbird ow which there are lots 6, 8 & 9 at 13E for instance

It won't do a manual tune at all
Lucky it has a 2 year warranty, it's 22 months old.

You may well not have noticed prior to the retune because the epg is refreshed from the actual transmissions. As already said it looks as if your dish alignment is out and not getting EB1 at 28.5E. A manual tune using all on my hdr returned 370 TV and 91 Radio so it looks like you are only missing a few transponders.
Download this htm file and open it in your browser and check S & Q for the EB1 transponders. http://www.4shared.com/document/baZ3...icMK2_011.html The above Q is very low for instance 11508 on mine is S 100% Q 90%.
