Hi.

Anyone able to tell me what the icon i sometimes see attached to scheduled recordings or epg data means - its a bluish rectangle with a '+' sign on top of it, to the left side?

I know that the layered rectangles indicate 'series record' or words to that effect, but just noticed this icon the other day on one of my scheduled recordings. Can't find anything in the manual, and I'm sure there are probably other icons that I will come across too down the line.

Give us a programme that has it as an example and I'll have a look, I think it might be the 'Recommend' link off the top of my head.

I suppose that might have helped a bit!!! Desperate Housewives on Sunday evening (C4) was one that comes to mind. Trying to remember if 'The Event' (E4 Tuesday repeat) was another.

Yep, As I thought it's the icon for a 'Recommend' link. Broadcasters transmit additional data known as Content Reference Identifiers (CRID). On freesat two of them are known to currently work, those being a 'Programme CRID' and the 'Series CRID'.The one you are seeing I believe is used on the sky platform, during trailers for upcoming programmes the user is prompted to press the green button and this creates a reservation in the recording schedule. Whether it will be implimented on the freesat platform is not known yet but the fact that the box has an icon for it would suggest it may appear sometime in the future.

Doesn't it indicate that the programme is also available on a '+1' channel an hour later? You'll probably find it's there on all C4, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4, E4 etc programmes....

As already stated it is for 'Recommend' links and currently it's only the Channel 4 family of channels that include this data flag in their epg data.
