Didn't think I would vote, then I saw the wild card (good idea) and since my three favourites are there put in a vote for them.

1st - Brian
2nd - Matthew
3rd - Lilia

I'd rather have a separate 'current professionals only' poll to be honest. Although I didn't anticipate it happening, I think this result is quite telling even though DS is unrepresentative. You never know who might see it!

I would definitely like to see a current pro only poll though- I'm curious who would win! I think Ian, Lilia and Matt were all in the top five last year, so things will definitely have changed- whether in favour of new pros or old is uncertain.

Could someone start one? I'm on my iPhone or I'd do it myself!

I think someone at the beeb has got it in for me personally as I've already lost my top four faves, so another vote for the wildcard here.

I'm another wild card voter.

Missing the sparkle of the gorgeous Ian Waite.

1st - Ian Waite
2nd - Matthew Cutler

Love Natalie Lowe also.

As I write this post the wild card vote is 37%, and that represents all the former pros.

By my maths that still means 63% are voting for the current pros.

Surely the most telling statistic is the viewing figures, 11.9 million I believe last Saturday. Tends to suggest the current pros are doing fine

It does represent all former pros, but in probability is no more than six or seven. I haven't seen anyone mention any other than the five who left this year, plus Karen and Camilla. 37% seven ways is over 5% each. More likely it is skewed towards a few... What makes it telling is that two of the new pros, plus a couple of the others, have barely registered on this poll. Supposedly they were brought in to improve things! Yes the current pros combined outweigh the departed pros combined, but a few healthy votes are changing the balance there.

Obviously DS is not representative of the average viewer, but it's still an interesting result.

I would hazard a guess that the increased viewing figures are to do with other changes rather than the pro line-up.

I agree with Katie, the fact that some new Pro's haven't registered and the wild card vote is fairly large and from reading back mainly for 4 people, I think you can argue that the current Pro's are not doing fine. Some are, some are doing ok but some not really doing it. The class and ability of the departed pro has shown most for me in the Pro dances which have not been as great this year (Cutler choreographed one's were good but with him, Ian and Lilia would have been great! )

The factor that is most telling in the viewing figures is the fact that someone has at last realised that they really don't have to time two of the most popular prime time weekend TV programmes against eachother! It isn't rocket science really!

Also just realised if you add together the top four scoring Pro's they only just get over the 90 votes of the wildcards.
