MUCH ANTICIPATED NEW ALBUM FROM THE KING OF POP
MICHAEL
TO BE RELEASED DECEMBER 14

Exclusive Teaser and Song to be Unveiled on MichaelJackson.com

New York, NY – The much anticipated album of newly completed recordings from Michael Jackson entitled MICHAEL will be released on December 14 by Epic Records in conjunction with the Estate of Michael Jackson. Tomorrow, an exclusive teaser for the project will appear on www.michaeljackson.com; on Monday, November 8th the world premiere of “Breaking News,” a full track from the album, will stream on the site for one week only.

The creative process never stopped for the King of Pop who was always planning for his next album; unbeknownst to many fans around the world Michael Jackson was writing and recording songs continuously everywhere from a friend’s home in New Jersey to studios in Las Vegas and Los Angeles with a small group of handpicked collaborators. Now, through the unique stories that will be told about the songs that comprise MICHAEL, fans will get mind-blowing insight into how this artist worked and a chance to hear the songs he most recently created along with tracks that Michael had a desire to bring to fruition.

“Breaking News,” a never heard before song by Michael that appears on the new album was recorded in New Jersey in 2007 and recently brought to completion. Fans can begin pre-ordering the album on www.michaeljackson.com in the next 24 hours.

The attached image of the album cover of MICHAEL was created by painter Kadir Nelson in 2009. In the oil painting, Kadir – who is known for story telling through his art – takes us on a journey through some key moments and important people in Michael Jackson’s life.

Stay tuned for the worldwide launch of the official first single from MICHAEL later this month.

I bet the synopsis of the album is a fib. I'd imagine it's just older works which never made the final cut of his albums when he was alive.

Albums being put together by someone else on his behalf will probably be shoddy. I wonder if they're going to "crunk" it up with shoddy R&B beats because that seems popular these days...

On the up side, it's MIchael's taste, and it seems to avoid the whole white face/melting face nightmare, post 1992

I dunno, I find Thriller to be the contender for worst album cover ever, the music's great, but the cover's dreadful.

They say the first one is comprised of material recorded after Invincible until his death. The others will be outtakes from past albums like Hot Street, Got The Hots, Cheater, Work That Body, but mastered versions

I don't mind the cover for Thriller - all his album covers have been rather shite

Can't wait for the album!! but at the same time I don't know what to think about it. I hope they don't ruin it by making it all "modern".

It was recorded between 2002-2008 - that's fairly modern already

Oh no, I mean making it like modern R&B/Pop. By adding rappers, autotune and stuff like that.

Pre-ordered from HMV. The most bitter sweet purchase I've ever made.

I cannot wait for this. It's been 9 years since we had any real new material from MJ. Just devestating that he's no longer around to present it himself.

I love the idea behind the album cover, but that main image of him is freaky

This and 'Vision' are two of my most anticipated releases this year!

I will 100% pre-order this, something i rarely do with music, Hopefully they havent altered them from how mj meant them to be heard too much as i expect they will have been altered or added to at least a little.

Either way there are alot of songs out there he recorded but never got released and its only a good thing imo they are to be released now. Of the ones ive heard that never got released if you dont love me is maybe my fav.

That's exactly what they'll have done to the album! Bet Will.I.Am is involved somehow with a large dose of autotune and some ridiculous throwaway sample. Sad.
