Hi all,

Has anyone managed to get hold of a Desire HD yet?

I'm eligible for an upgrade today but T-MObile over the phone said they haven't got any and it may be months before they arrive judging by the Desire when that came out.

They suggested I try their stores and the stores either say they haven't got any in yet or they aren't available in retail stores just yet.

Also tried the Carphone Warehouse after T-Mob suggested it and they've got none in most of the northwest of England!!

Whats going on? Where can I get one from without buying it outright??

Ordered one from mobiles.co.uk two days ago and then found out about the stock troubles. God knows how long its going to take now, really annoying. If i don't get it by next Friday then I'll probably cancel my order. So much for next day delivery.

Managed to get one this morning!

Went to my local T-Mobile store after calling them last night, they said they had 4 in but it would be first come, first served. Got there as they were opening and bagged one.

Really nice phone. I'm trying to get used to the slight differences from my old Android but its so smooth and fast. Love it!

I've had 2.

I got my first one, unbranded, on release day from CPW. They had 3 in stock which surprised even the store staff and they were all sold on day 1. A colleague of mine had a similar experience a few days later.

I managed to get a second one slightly cheaper than sim free price. Too good a bargain to miss out on, so I jumped in and bought it and then promptly put it on eBay, taking full advantage of the stock shortage I got top price for it and made over £100 profit which is rather nice...

You can still get them, but it involves doing a bit of hunting. You need to get on the internet, find some stores and give them a call to see if they have stock. It's a popular handset, very much in demand, but you can get them if you're prepared to put in some time.
