Yep, pretty much. It was great entertainment, and Marrakech will go down as one of the best episodes, but that series had a unique kind of nastiness and incompetence to it. Sometimes it was difficult to watch. Very few of the candidates from it are often remembered positively - for me, at least.

The S5 candidates were of a somewhat better calibre, imo. I say that because they worked better as teams (Debra was right on that point) and there was less of the bitchiness and politics. It was also good to see one of the strongest female teams in the series after seeing the girls of S4.

I worry this series may be edging towards that standard - but hopefully they'll eventually show more creativity and teamwork soon.
I wouldn't say the girls were the only offenders in Series 4. Michael and Alex - and frankly Lee too, as far as I'm concerned - were very much among the villains of that series.

I don't think any of the people in this series have really come across as nasty in the way that some of the Series 4 contestants were - I know some will say Paloma was, but I didn't think so. Sandeesh is a bit useless, and Laura is whiny, but I don't think they're nasty.

I said that because I don't think in S6 they work so well as teams (again, I agree with Debra here) - not as badly as S4, but still bad and getting there.

As far as nastiness goes though, you're right, they're not as bad as S4 - although Paloma and Melissa certainly won't come out well from this series, not matter how much they were edited (Jenny C made that "bad editing" claim afterwards as well). Still not as vile as Celery though.

I've always found that bit odd. Sugar's reaction seems so disproportionate to what we hear Debra say that it's hard not to suspect that she said more, and more objectionable, stuff that was edited out. Nick was totally wrong in what he was saying, and Debra was right to take issue. She perhaps got a little impassioned, but not too much from what we saw.
