Anyone heard the debut album by Lauren Pritchard "Wasted in Jackson"?

Lauren's from Tennessee and has appeared on Broadway, but has been writing her own songs for years before being "discovered" by Eg White (producer with Duffy and Adele, etc). She's now based in the UK and "Wasted in Jackson" entered the album charts at no.84 last week.

Lauren's music is a mix of soul, pop and R&B. She's got a great voice. I've seen her live twice this year - firstly as a surprise guest at a Paul Weller gig where she duetted on "How Sweet It Is" and secondly as part of an Island Records promo tour. Her vocals on both occasions were tremendous.

Here's a few of her songs:

Not The Drinking - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8A9Ys0wh5I

Painkillers - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxSBco1Z1eU

When The Night Kills The Day - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOZVZYFovLw (produced by Mumford and Sons and features them as her backing band for this song only).

I got this album last week and I'm pretty impressed! I really like Painkillers, When The Night Kills The Day and I Hope It's You. She reminds me a bit of Joss Stone (but less annoying). I wouldn't say it's one of the best albums but it's a nice bit of easy listening
