Updating a Nokia
Knighton
06-11-2010
I'm trying to update the firmware on my N95.

Each time I run the updater it downloads the new firmware but just as it tries to install I get the 'Device Recovery' screen that tells me connection to my phone was lost.

It's SO f***ing annoying. I've tried different USB ports and it's still the same. Nokia's support forums are manned useless Indian "thank you please" type staff and nobody ever gets anywhere with them.

Anyone have any ideas?

Make sure you have the latest version of the updater software. last time I had that problem I updated the software and it worked fine.

I had problems with the software update when done on my laptop - the phone (N95 and 5230) needed a beefier USB signal when doing the update.

Could be a problem if you're connecting via a USB hub.
