11K for Nadine...

I am actually quite happy for Nadine. Considering 'Insatiable' has been played once on Radio 1 in the past month, #26 is a lot better than many others could manage.

I expected more from Cheryl, though.

^ lol!! Can't believe people can turn it around like that.
It doesn't matter who's better than who or what expectations they both had, at the end of the day Cheryl IS more successful than Nadine.

Cheryl has X-Factor (most watched show in the UK), tons and tons of media coverage, Simon Cowell kissing her ass, lots of radio and music channel rotation plus had Piers Morgan and has a much better video than Nadine, who got played about five times on the radio and wasn't even top 40 in the TV airplay chart.

Nadines been full of flaws consistenntly all month. The back breaker being releasing the song Monday 12am instead of Sunday 12am

Cheryl was always going to be bigger than Nadine. She is the "Nation's Sweetheart" and the press have done anything they can to rubbish Nadine's solo career before it's even really had time to get off the ground. They want Nadine to fail so they can big up Cheryl even more.

I've got nothing against Cheryl, myself, but the way the British media treat her is bloody stomach churning, and frankly bizarre.

Exactly, that's what I'm saying. Cheryl is more successful than Nadine (because of everything you listed)

I love cheryl but i am already preparing for when the british public begin to hate her. Public can turn on you over anything

She just needs to say the wrong thing, have a sex tape, maybe have a very public relationship with some idiot and the sun will be naming her the most hated women in britain (nicking katie price's title).

You've not mentioned that Nadine sold 11,392 copies, would you edit that in the first post please?

You know what I don't understand? Nadine's single has caused quite a bit of controversy (well everyone's been talking about it in rival with Cheryl), so I would have thought with all the attention the chart position may have made top 20.

I don't think it matters anymore if it's good press or bad press, if Cheryl is in the newspapers she will always sell!

People are saying it's disappointing that Cheryl "only" sold 100k+, and that #26 is "quite good" for Nadine, as if Nadine somehow had a moral victory over Cheryl. Of course Cheryl was always gonna do better because of promotion etc. but there's no point convincing ourselves that it was a better week for Nadine than Cheryl because regardless of comparing how much promo they had, the sales are what matters and the numbers speak for themselves. I think it's obvious who the best singer is but hey, it is what it is.

I think Insatiable is a song the public never 'got' as most say it's dated and rather uneventful.

I think her next single will put all that aside, PUT YOUR HANDS UP

Bemused why she didn't go with that as the lead single

Perhaps that will change the outcome for the album!?

I think Tesco and Nadine have been pushing the album more than the single, we'll see how the album does....out tomorrow! sounds brilliant by clips i've heard

Nadine shot herself in the foot by only selling it through Tesco!!!! How stupid was that?!? I didn't mind the single personally, no better no worse than Cheryl.

I can see Nadine's album being 3 or 4 at best, most likely around 7ish tho

Nadine wanted full creative control and maybe going with Tesco was the only way to get that? I admire her for not selling out. She made a bold move, and, face it, whatever she did she was never going to beat Cheryl in the eyes of the British press. At least Nadine can say she went her own way, if nothing else.
