I feel that Vettel was one lucky boy with that race. He was dead to rights with his tyres falling off rapidly just before that incident with Petrov.

A bit of a farce of a race that.

Vettel, 'master of Monaco' as per Brundle ..... perhaps he was the luckiest driver around Monaco, not particularly the 'master' though.

Well done Seb Vettel .... can anyone stop him? Doubt it.

Indeed.

"A champions race"?

Nah, just lucky he didn't end up sticking it in a wall at some point during what should have been an epic 3-way battle for the lead over the last ten laps.

Vettel is on new tyres? imo the rules in F1 are a joke, Button got totaly screwed and the race was ruined.
Agreed.

IMO if people wanted their cars worked on they should have gone in to the pits.

A slower than usual rendition of the German anthem ....... then we have the musical challenged Austrian anthem. No matter how many times I hear it, I could not hum it even directly after it is played!

So do I in a way. It was certainly lining up to be one hell of a finish!

Bored of Vettel winning
Funny that, me & hub have just said the same thing. I can't fault Vettel for his driving though, and RB have an outstanding car. But I really hope we're not going to be entering another wall to wall season (ala MS) with RB & Vettel on the top of the podium all the time.

Still, as I said earlier, it really was the best (for me anyway) Monaco F1 race I've seen in a long time.

Jake to Christian Horner: 'Quick Fit or ATS could have been quicker in those pits stops'.

Hamilton again waving his hand in the air when he shunted Maldonaro off the track.

It was all Maldonaro's fault, of course.

He's been a right idiot this afternoon. Cue face like a slapped **** when we see his post match interview.

I've not read the thread, or noticed it before at other races, so sorry if it is an old comment, but...

When waiting for the restart near the end, I noticed a little map in the cockpit of Vettel's car. Does he really need this? You'd think they could afford a sat nav.

They still use a little sticker cos it has the corner numbers on it so a driver can refer to it if they need to tell the team summat about how their car is handling on a specific corner etc.

You know the racing games on the consoles, where you can just keep your finger on the accelerator and not worry about the brakes, and just barge cars out of the way? That's what Hamilton's driving remind me of. As you say, it's always somebody else's fault, normally because they've 'turned into' him.

lucky lucky boy

when its going right theres not a lot you can do is there?

but remember button from 2009 vettels luck will run out

it takes a DNF and a bad result so all hope is not lost yet!

as others have said we were robbed of a great finish

Alonso would have had a go at Vettel so we'll never know

think the rule to allow the tire change was fatal for a good race finish

mclaren shot themselves in the foot twice

in qualifying with hamilton and button in the race

I was surprised the rules allowed teams to change their tyres and do repairs whilst waiting for the race re-start on the grid. Surely that can't be fair.

Red Bull pitted Vettel once.

Ferrari pitted Alonso twice.

McLaren pitted Button three times.

Why???

Surely if they adopted a two stop Jenson would have finished at least second. With a three stop he would likely to have had to pass cars on-track to win. Seems like a major cock-up to me. I don't think that there was any need for an extra pit-stop and they shouldn't have pitted him so early for his second stop.

That was a bit stupid.

Might have been a joke but it came across bad.

Hamilton really has thrown his toys out of the pram.

Says he should keep his mouth shut ..... however I think he has said quite a lot already.

Then he goes and brings the 'race' card out of the bag and says 'it is because he is black'.

Quite shocking stuff.

He made it obvious it was a joke, refering to Ali G.

Not a funny joke, mind you .....
PR won't be happy with it.

Meh! Sense of humour bypass?

I think Lewis kinda has a point in that he feels that he's trying to race and various rules (such as the stuff about not allowing more than one move on a straight) restrict his (and everybody elses) ability to race properly.

I don't actually think anybody else was particularly to blame for Lewis' cock-ups today but I can see why he's frustrated.

He's just a spoilt brat.
If he's not leading (in the first 3 or 4) then he throws a tantrum and just barges everyone out of the way. It's never his fault.
