Well I have been to quite a few races in Monaco now and they just get better!

I am a Mclaren fan all the way but the safety car f-ed that one up I must say! So wanted a win!

Gotta say not a great day for Lewis at all the atmosphere in the floater home was:sleep: is the closest I can say!

p.s News travels fast DC in the Red Bull pool. At times like this I wish I was in the RB home they sound like they are haaving so much fun from here! Anyway going to drown my sorrows like many others that are here and try not to think about the red bull party

Also heard about Lewis iz it coz I iz black. Someone here said Di Resta should have said iz it coz I iz Scottish

Hamilton is coming across as a real prick this week. Seriously going off the guy. Shame, I've been an ardent support of him since his debut.

That aside, a return to the Shumacher/Ferrari domination of the early noughties seems to be on the cards in Vettel/RB. I stopped watching F1 for a few years back then and probably will do again if this continues.

As a armchair F1 fan for 30 years, Lewis Hamilton is the most exciting F1 driver since Ayrton Senna; so it can be of little surprise that on occasions like today he behaves like the biggest prick in F1 since Ayrton Senna.

I'm sure it was, but it is a "sensitive" subject, and he should have known better.

Lewis has a new update coming on his car for the next race Mclaren have confirmed. They are going to fit a snow plough to the front of his car to help get the other cars out of the way!

Time to quit watching, I think. Vettel (irritating twit) has it sewn up, and when the other cars are finally competitive, some other twit causes a crash to hand him another win on a plate.

You're having a bit of a joke, like your hero, aren't you!

Ayrton Senna was a genius at the wheel of an F1 car ..... I'm afraid Hamilton really doesn't come close.

Now if you compared Vettel to Ayrton you may be going in the right direction. It is not just luck that he has won most of the races, and most on the pole positions, this year.

No it's not luck. He's had the fastest car by a mile.

You're just having a laugh if you think Vettel can be considered anything other than good at this point.
He BARELY beat Mark Webber last year who is like the Australian Coulthard. In fact Vettel was determined to screw that up all year; his overtaking was especially poor.

Ok so this year he's shown some good overtaking so far but he's a got a long way to go to be considered alongside Alonso and Hamilton as the best drivers on the track.

I agree that senna was a genius but he also did not go through F1 career smelling of roses, quite the opposite, I only have to mention 1989 and 1990, prost and senna settling those years on collisions.

Imagine if alsono and hamilton did that now, this forum would be just posts of hatred and calls of cheating against Hamilton.

Vettel is no way near Senna, I can see who you like .

There is no one currently racing who is up there with Senna, not yet anyway, vettel and lewis still have a long way to go.

While schumacher may have champisonships and race wins his cheating also costs him dear in my eye's also, but a Fantastic driver in his day.

Edit: currently I believe the best drivers are Aloson(through grtitted teeth ) and Lewis.

Also, what lewis said today was a joke, a very bad one and should not have been said in public or private, but no matter if its a joke or otherwise the haters on here will jump on it. Its Hamilton haters ammunition....

AAHHH Music to my ears.

A real track for real men drivers ......you shouldn't be in F1 if you cant take a joke or a shunt.

At least Monaco is for true racers ....not Playstation pilots like all the other cotton wool tracks.

P.S. Hamilton ...you one lucky boy...dont go whacking people on the track and play the "coz Im Black " card when punished.....VERY dodgy mate be very careful. .

also ..dont let Hamilton (Narsicus ) near a reflective object the vain silly beard earing Knob.

Well done Jenson...measured and Corinthian spirit ala Triathlon.

I did actually say 'you would be 'going in the right direction', where Vettel is concerned, didn't say he was 'as good as'.

Vettel does have the skill, the mental ability and the psyche to overcome most situations and to put him in a place to win. Apparently behind the scenes he's very committed and quite demanding if the RB team.

Webber has the same car, and he too can put it up there at times, however it is the way Seb consistently wrings that car out of everything it can produce, when needed that brings him the results.

Must say, I don't think Button really did anything special today.

Considering he was catching Alonso and Vettel at over 3s per lap he didn't make much of an effort to pass.
He's a decent enough guy but he seems like a bit of a "vulture" to me.
He either waits for all the big dogs to fight with each other and nips past or he just sits behind and picks up the scraps.

Does anybody ever recall a race where you found yourself thinking "Blimey! How on Earth did he manage that?"
I can't.

Bit baffled how a guy who started in 2nd position and ended up in 3rd managed to win "Driver of the day".
Surely Kobayashi, starting 12th and finishing 5th, deserved it more than anybody?

Felt cheated out of an exciting finish to the qualifying and again today cheated out of what could have been a very exciting end to the race, Did anyone else think that it may have been
Hamiltons incident with Massa and the first deployment of the safety car that had the biggest impact on Jenson not winning?

David Bogie ( Dumfries) wins British Champ round Jim Clark Rally in Duns on Saturday.

David Bogie ( Dumfries ) wins Scottish Rally Championship Reivers Rally in Duns on the Sunday (today )

Leads both Championships from first round and still does.

TBH, I think Hamilton was kind of responsible for screwing up the race completely. Sort of.

Vettel, Alonso and Button were in the middle of lapping a bunch of mid-fielders (including Hamilton) and I suspect Lewis tried to take advantage of the fact that they were all expecting to have to let a McLaren through and, once the guys in front of him realised it was Hamilton who was trying to pass, rather than Button, they went a bit mental.

Although Hamilton can be a cock I do think some of his driving is genius - I like the fact that he's aggressive

Not sure who you think I 'like', it is not particularly Vettel though, just admire his dedication and managing to deliver at every race.

Nobody could touch Senna IMO, even though he wasn't adverse to a bit of 'gamesmanship'. That day he crashed in 1994 was a very dark day for the sport, he was truely missed the the years that followed.

Dreadful freak accident, untimely death, denying the world of his skill, and so so much charisma I really don't think we have enjoyed since in the sport.

As for Schumey, his return has really detracted from his previous great efforts. We will all remember these rather mediocre performances where his reactions are a split second off as he's marched on with age! In his day though, he was quite good!!

Well actually it didn't make a difference at all.
Brundle and Coulthard have been bumbling in the commentary box a lot this year and this is another example of that. They missed all the key decisions in this race.

Lap 17 Jenson pits and puts Options on.
Lap 17 Vettel pits and puts Primes on.
Lap 17 Alonso pits and puts Primes on.

Lap 33 (before the safety car or Ham/Mass crash) Button pits for Primes. He was 12 seconds in front of Vettel and the pit stop took 26 seconds. So even if he stays out he can't make 14 seconds up before the tyres degrade; they just wouldn't last that long.

Then the safety car comes out lap 34 but affects nothing. Vettel 1st, Alonso 2nd, Button 3rd none of them pit. Now Vettel has track position and drives it to the end of the race.

Now they said in the box that they pre-empted the safety car because of another incident and that's why they pitted Button on lap 33... but really how many more laps could he do on soft tyres? He might have got closer to Vettel faster if he'd stayed out and no safety car, but really I don't see another result.

It would definitely have been more exciting if it wasn't for the red flag though. There's a chance Vettel's tyres fall off the cliff... but we'll never know :/

Quite agree, Brundle is not a main commentator, he's the expert and does that briliant.

I am sick of Mr Red Bull aka Mr White Jeans, he's boring and to be honest I dont think he that knowedgable in comparison to Brundle.

They need a proper commentator, I have always liked Crofty from Five Live, he does a good job and with Brundle would make a good pairing.

Just my two pence..........

Hamilton seems to have somethin happen to him (this week it was Massa in practice) and he seems to turn it into a vendetta until he gets him back and it bubbles inside him all weekend.

He also gets angrier and angrier until he costs himself the race by doing something aggressively stupid, he has a serious attitude problem.

He acts like a spoilt child and needs putting over his dads knee.

And i am a McLaren fan.
