James May's Man Lab, BBC2...
Utterly excellent viewing. What do others think? Anyone inspired to build a bar or a kitchen worktop out of concrete yet?

I love it. It's a fantastic programme - especially because i'm one of the useless traditional males it's aimed at.
I fear that it's not getting much love though It's taken til episode 2 to get a thread

I liked it.
I definitely want to build a concrete worktop, and I am glad I now know how to defuse a WW2 bomb And I'm a girl.Thought this weeks wasn't as good, but I think it shows promise .James May is as good as ever- he can hold his own without Clarkson and Hammond in a way the Hammond can't. Bravo dear boy. |

James has this nack of being endearingly inspirational without any forced emotion. And Oz singing 'Drunken Sailor' after more than a couple was hilarious!

![]() . I'm liking 80% odd of it, a pretty decent return for an hour of a Sunday evening http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s....php?t=1379616 |

Hmmm. It's the kind of program that you would watch when bored on Dave. It's even made for adverts.
It's ok but a bit lame and random. Was wanting it to improve this week but is was the same. 5 out of 10. |

HA HA I loved the disclaimer at the end as last week I was yelling at the TV "Black isn't live you stupid twonk, red is live!"
But it's funny as I'm gay and know all this manly stuff, (Love my power tools) so the gay stereotype doesn't apply with this man! And I fancy Charlie Hyland the young researcher! |

I liked it, but then James May is a great presenter and also happens to be a decent chap off camera too.

I didn't like it but then, James May is a poor presenter who may or may not be a decent chap off camera.

Does anyone know if Man Lab has gone for good? I think I sort of assumed James May's big Amazon Prime contract meant he wouldn't be doing any more stuff for the BBC. But I see he's doing another one of his 'Reassembler' shows for BBC Four this Christmas. Does this mean Man Lab could come back - or the thing he did about building life-size toys?

James May is excellent at these types of programmes and I like his relaxed, laid back style, in contrast to a manic Hammond.

The last series was in 2013 so unfortunately it seems that it has run it's course and he's probably a bit too busy now to restart it. I was a fan of this, Toy Stories and his drink show with Oz Clarke.

Why? Clarkson was the only one that there was any problem with and even he's still making appearances in BBC programmes. Hammond and May merely resigned from Top Gear. There was no suggestion that they'd never cross the BBC threshold again.
The BBC at the time said that all three would be able to work for them again & said that other contracts that May/Hammond had were unaffected too. |
