Texting problems on orange iPhone
Hi guys,
I've MRI ed a little problem that seems to recur a couple of times a week when using my iPhone 3GS. Sometimes if im texting someone, all of a sudden, my phone won't seem to send messages of a certain length. They aren't particularly novel-length, but the message sending fails. If i cut the message down, or send it in two parts, it works fine - although for a few hours after, it still doesn't let me send long messages. It seems to rectify itself after a while, and normal service resumes without me doing anything. Has this happened to anyone else? Its not the worst problem in the world, but can get irritating, especially as I have to cut the message down to six or seven words at a time to get it to send! And even then, the person I'm texting doesn't always get the texts I send straightaway! |

Whoops - the first part should read 'i've noticed', not 'i've MRI ed'!

I have Orange iPhone and never have this problem, odd one that is! I can send very long texts without splitting it up...hmmm
Maybe somebody else will be able to help you |

You can turn on the character count Settings>Messages>Character Count>On
But it's a strange one and should not be happening. |

I'm having the exact same problem, but with my HTC Hero. I'm having to turn the phone on and off again for normal service to resume. Its also happening with a few of my colleagues who are all on Orange, but with different handsets.
Just waiting for Orange to call me back. Annoying!! |

At least it's not just me! Would you mind letting me know what response you get? Curious as to the problem, coz it's not an obvious one!

Hi,
Still waiting for someone from Orange to call me back! Beginning to think that the number of characters on a text was just a coincidence for me, as some "smaller" texts are having the same problem. I also cannot access my Orange account online or by phone. There's definitely something going on... |

One of my friends had a similar problem, he fixed this by deleting the entire text conversation history with the person he was having the problems with.
It fixed the problem. |

I get it with smaller ones too; if it was really long messages, I could almost understand it, but when I can't send a text message with more than four or five words, it gets a bit annoying!
I'd rather not have to delete the whole conversation if can help it - oddly enough, that seems more of an annoyance than cutting down the messages! |
