nice and good job fury. but that was so horrible to watch. i really hope fury doesn't fight with haye because we know how that will go. haye/fury could possible beat haye/valuev for most boring fight ever.

Anyway, ............ why was Carl Froch wearing an "alien" hairpiece/wig ? I mean surely boxers are the last people that feel the need to do that ..

I must admit that before the fight I was hoping klitschko would knock him out cos I thought Fury was too mouthy. It only took to about the 2nd round for me to switch allegiance, Fury provided the entertainment, had some great shots and deserved to win.
When he got the point deducted and having heard the commentators saying 'he can't win on points in Germany' (supposedly) I was getting worried ... but he smashed it !! He is only 27 and if he looks after himself he has great things ahead (and some big pay days} Good luck Tyson Fury, You've got what it takes (and more). Edit: klitschko wsa very gracious in defeat ''he was quicker'' ''he was bigger''....... he was. |

Seen better fights on Black Friday over a reduced handbag. The heavyweight division is as dead as a doornail.

Great fight on the undercard 1st round stoppage, lightweight I think.
I thought the main fight was very good, remember they are heavy especially those 2. |

It wasn't a great watch, but that was the only way anyone was going to beat Wlad's adopted style. Best thing to happen to heavyweight boxing in years.

It was a very scrappy fight but still entertaining to see Klitschko struggling to know how to handle Fury.
Surely the great hope for heavyweight boxing is Anthony Joshua. It needs him to be the real deal and I think he might be. |

Doesn't look like Wlad's retiring anytime yet. Wants a rematch (unsurprisingly).
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/boxing-...4751--box.html No idea how that will go. |

There will have been a rematch clause. Which is funny because by rights mandatory challengers shouldn't have to have rematch clauses. But the Klitschko's famously run roughshod over these sort of formalities. Back in the day they used to put in that if you managed to beat one then you'd have to fight the other brother.
But they do carry themselves well. A real credit to boxing. |

![]() ![]() I'm not going to lie, it was a complete punt based on nothing more than fairly decent price and relative ages of the two boxers. If cash out had been available I would have taken it at any time after the 2nd round. And even though he was clearly outboxing vlad- well, out-pushing him anyway -, only by the ninth did I feel comfortable that Fury was going to stay on his feet and probably win. Credit to Tyson though. He knew he was going to win every second of every minute of every round. Immense self-belief. |

Has Fury gone back to being British now? I remember people on here and the press we happy for Ireland to claim him. Rather hypocritically I bet you that's all changed.
I think the fight was very unsatisfactory and the ring was far far too big even for two big guys like them. Both of them were far too cautious to land cleanly though I think Fury went for it slightly more in trying to land cleanly but how often did he? Less than 10 with the big attempts? Wlad should have gone for it and where on earth was his jab? I think Fury's mind games worked a treat for him and he took them into the ring/fight too which was another good move psychologically. I think the main reason why Fury won was because he was so awkward and dangly like and I've never seen him fully unleash punches against a major opponent so its hard to tell how good his punching power is BUT I got the impression he has a lot of body power/strength and along with his masssive height that he uses well to be so awkward, I think he could well fend off most challengers from here on including maybe Wilder and Joshua. As for Wlad, unless he completely steps things up and is prepared to jab more, unleash more and try and get a smaller ring, then I think he would be unlikely to win a rematch but who knows? That was Wlad's first time fighting someone taller than him so maybe he would be able to adjust and prepare if he goes for a rematch but at his age could he do it in general? It will be a tall order. Pun was not intended. |

I think Fury fully deserved to win as he was the more positive boxer. Wlad just wanted to defend and at no time looked like being the aggressor. When it came to the points, I was confident that Fury would get the decision.

De Gale wins on points with 2 judges giving it him by 6 rounds and the other by 4 rounds
Jim Watt had it 114-114 and Nick Halling had it to De Gale by 1 round I only caught the last 2 rounds which Bute clearly won |

Just seen the fight. Really well done to Tyson. Wasn't great to watch but that was the game plan from fury to frustrate wlad and it worked perfectly.
