Wilder doesn't have the chin. Joshua knocks him out.

Martin was a great opponent for Joshua to win a world title. There is a reason they gave Martin such a payday as this was the perfect chance for Joshua to pick up the title.

Haye wants Joshua but he deserves nothing. His fighting corpses trying to take minimal risks as Joshua is the money man in the division and Haye wants that money.

Martin looked very average from the first bell. Well done Joshua.
Want him to face someone decent soon.

It is nice to see the heavyweight division active again after all these years of klitschos dominating for well ever so it seemed

Feel sorry for the people who paid to watch that on Sky box office. Absolute tripe for a heavywight championship fight.

No doubt AJ has a got a traction engine of a right hand, but FGS put him in the ring with someone decent.

By default of Fury being stripped of the belt for not wanting to fight the IBF contender, them looking to fill to slot and then their no 1 contender basically getting injured. In essence it was a vacant title fight

Dont think you can complain about not putting him in with someone decent tonight. Martin didnt look that good but he WAS the current world champion for that belt. Joshua can hardly say he isnt going to fight Martin for the belt incase he isnt good enough.

Haye needs Joshua - Joshua doesn't need Haye. I can't see that fight happening. Not anytime soon at least, but who knows....money talks at the end of the day but I don't see the prospect of them squaring up generating enough interest outside the UK.

July 9th defence will he hilarious.

Joshua fighting on July 9th will be more popular than Fury v Klitchko.

David Haye actually confirming he will fight Briggs and talk as if that's not a problem really is ridiculous.

Well done to Joshua. Yeah he has beating a bunch of jobbers but he got his title shot and won it in devastation fashion.

I think he would beat Wilder Also.

David Haye was doing the big sell tonight.

Listening to Haye you would of thought he was king @ HW.

Well I hate to say it but I was right.

He need more seasoning before he takes on the really world class heavyweights like Tyson or Wlad but he has not put a foot wrong so far so I am cautiously optimistic that he could turn out to be the unified champion in the future and if he does then greatness awaits.

I also think that Wilder is overrated.

Hmm just checked and he has been knocked out by Dereck Chisora and he got KO'd by Wilder in one round.

No doubt if it goes ahead it will be on PPV again but going off that, I would say another easy KO win for Joshua

The Wilder KO of Mallik wasn't even 1 round, it was 1st punch of the fight.

It was also one of the biggest "dives" you will see in world championship boxing:

That is the great thing for AJ - he has so many bums to go through in the next 12 months as the heavyweight division is choc full of them.

The punch barely got through his guard.

Cant be Malik Scott. Rankings before Saturday night were:

The rankings before last night were

1. Vacant
2. Vacant
3. Teper
4. Joshua
5. Takam
6. Parker
7. Vyacheslav Glazkov
8. Kubrat Pulev
9. Derek Chisora
10. Andy Ruiz
11. Bermane Stiverne
12. Robert Helenius
13. David Haye
14. Dominic Breazeale
15. Jarrell Miller

Scott isn't in the top 15 so couldn't be a voluntary defence.

People will criticise the next opponent but looking at the rankings and who hasn't got fights lined up only leaves:

Teper
Stiverne
Breazeale

I think it will be Stiverne. Ex champ and his the only guy that went the distance vs Wilder.

Maybe Chisora (if he beats Pulev) in October and the then fight the winner out of Parker/Takam end of the year

I very much hope this doesn't happen. If it does then Eddie Hearn is showing absolute contempt for fans of the sport.

It's absolutely pathetic, isn't it? I'm not huge fan of Haye anyway, and this laughable comeback tour, but if he actually gets in the ring with Briggs then any remaining respect I have for him will be gone.

Briggs has a short deluded article in today's Metro saying how everywhere he goes people say his catchphrase to him.. Something like you're the champ... Anyway he is based in the UK now and sees haye as a stepping stone!

Briggs' whole shtick is somewhat amusing, but as much as Haye is currently fighting no-marks he is still a dangerous fighter and could do some serious damage to Briggs.

Any supposedly serious fighter like Haye, and his promoter, should not even be contemplating going anywhere near a ring with Briggs.

In regards to Haye he really is doing my head in. Goes away and yet thinks he can fight the world champions at a drop of hat. Yet since being back he has beat a bum from Australia and now fighting a guy who makes the bum look like Mike Tyson.

I do think Haye is good but spend a good 1/2 years beating some good opponents and actually earn your chance at a world title shot.

Martin looked very average long before the first bell of the Joshua 'fight'.

It brings tears to the eyes that someone as poor as Charles Martin will be able to tell his grandchildren that he was once the 'HW Champion of the World' & just highlights what a joke boxing is.

Team Joshua must have thought it was Christmas when Martin landed on their doorstep as a trinket holder for AJ to fight for the 'title'.

Joshua does deserve credit though, as he looks like a monster in the making, although I'd take Fury to outpoint him right now, although it wouldn't surprise me if Joshua flattened him.

Joshua is good, but the shame is that there is no one even in the pipeline, its quite amazing the dearth of heavyweights in recent years. It reminds me of the way that West Indies top class cricketers have faded into oblivion.

Klitcschko will be well past it if/when Joshua faces him and Fury is no better than average. Its a shame that there just doesnt seem to be the production line anymore and no one (as far as i know) on the horizon).

The like of Wetherspoon, Razor Ruddock, Mccall etc would be by far the top men today.

David Haye's retirement tour is an absolute farce right now.

I wouldn't mind him knocking over daffodils if he was honest about it, but he claimed to be looking for top opponents & tried to claim his latest waxwork dummy opponent was worthy because he is unbeaten!

Andrew Flintoff is unbeaten too; why doesn't he fight him?

Wake me up when Haye fights someone that isn't on life support or hasn't got the word 'EVERLAST' printed on their side!

But when they were fighting they were said to be bums, as were the heavyweights before them, and back before them to the brutal days of Tom Cribb and beyond

Every single era of heavyweight boxing is seen as the worst ever at the time.

I remember articles bemoaning how utterly crap the division was with Lewis, Bowe, Tyson Holyfield and Ruddock in the top ten.

And I have seen writers stating how fighters like Ali, Frazier and Foreman would not have cut it 'in the good old days'.

More than any sport nostalgia plays a big part in boxing.

Just my opinion of course.
