Perfect tactics. Barroso looks so dangerous in those first rounds but no stamina what so ever. Crolla really did well to soak it all up and then boss the fight.

Also big respect for him taking the fight when everyone (including Warren) said he was silly to do so. Makes him a bigger star now

Crolla just keeps getting better and better. He is one tough nut to crack and seems completely fearless ...

I thought it was a bit strange that the sweat was pouring off Barroso at the end of the first round yet he ploughed on for the next 4 rounds like a man possessed, no way he could keep that pace up for 12 rounds and for once Jim Watt called it correctly.

So is the Khan fight really expected at 2am? I will still up if it is but still find it odd it would happen at 6pm their time

According to the BBC sport website it says 4.00 am for the Khan fight.

poor amir we all expected the knockout but that was vicious, why oh why did he take this fight...

A fighter going up two weight division always has this outcome. Khan loses no credibility.

Canelo has lost the respect of many after this fight until he finally agrees to fight GGG without another fight of his being heavily set up in his favour again.

That result tonight was inevitable.

Rumours abound that Mayweather is to come out of retirement. A potential Money vs Pacman 2 and even Conor McGregor have both been mentioned.

Where does Amir go from here??

Should he continue boxing, as presumably he is financially set for life now, if he does continue which level, and against whom next??

Respect to amir for taking the risk. Yes he got sparked out by a devastating punch but he loses no credibility. Hopefully now he'll fight brook. Well done to crolla on his win. Did anyone expect him to win? Nice guy too.

I expected Crolla to win.

As for Khan, back to 147 for him but I think he still won't fight Kell. For me Kell wins the fight by KO but can't see it happening this year.

He will be fine if he sticks to welterweight, doesn't lose much for me in this fight.

Brook next would be the obvious one but i think they both will have a couple of fghts before that happens.

Crolla is becoming a star. He has the back story with the burglary and the fact his career was going nowhere. What a turnaround. Fantastic performance last night!!

Now into Khan. The fight played out how I thought. Khan starting quickly but Canelo making the necessary adjustments to time Khan. Timing beats speed!! Khan just doesn't hit hard enough. Those quick punches don't do damage and that's a problem as fighters like Canelo did will edge closer and closer. By the end of the 4th you could see Khan's jab wasn't the same and Canelo was hitting Khan with bodyshots which was was clever. Canelo used a great faint on the finish, made Khan think another left hand was coming and then nailed him with a great right hand.

We've seen this story played out before with Khan. For the first 2-3 rounds he looks fine and ever so quick but fighters with good timing will always work him out.

Dropping to 147lbs is inevitable but it's a tough division for Khan. Bradley is the only one I think who doesn't hit hard enough to stop Khan. Brook would KO him as his got great timing and Thurman can bang. Garcia already stopped him.

There is no easy road back to the top for Khan.

I don't think he fell because of this fight, everyone knew gong in he was fighting out of his weight class.

The Bradley fight is a good shout though.

Bradley a hard fight to make cause of the top rank/al haymon politics.

I can see khan fighting berto or Robert Guerrero next. Tube himself back to 147.

To go up two weight divisions and win, you have to be an exceptional boxer.

Unfortunately for Khan, he is a good boxer but not an exceptional one.

I don't for one minute think this is the end for Khan, there are plenty potential fights out there for him, but at his natural welter.

Big congrats to Crolla who just seems to be growing more and more in his own ability.

True but the fight went as it usually does regardless of weight class. At WW he hasn't been exposed yet as didn't fight any of the top fighters in the division.

Credit for taking such a stiff challenge but man that was a brutal KO.

Nobody comes back from a knockout like that the same fighter. That hit was the kind that leaves an indelible mark on the psyche of a fighter. That was the kind of hit that retires fighters.

The trouble for Canelo is that even if he landed that shot on GGG I don't think it would even knock him down let alone out - all the while having to avoid the devastating bombs coming his way.

As for Amir he was very brave to take on the challenge but unless you are an all time great lightweight like Duran (or Mayweather of course) it's incredibly hard to be competitive with a quality middleweight champion.

I wonder if he will be gun-shy in the future?

Perhaps Khan should retire now while he still has his health as he has certainly made plenty of money from the sport.

Breidis Prescott knocked him similar to canelo. Khan come back from that and he'll come back from this.

Khan will be fine but unfortunately for him his punch resistance will always have question marks on it.

Long term its far better to suffer one punch ko's than sustained punishment.
