Well done Ingle. It was only gonna get worse for Brook, valiant as he was.

Can't believe that. He wasn't getting hit flush - no way that towel should have gone in.

Did well the first 3 rounds or so, but ultimately was painfully out of his depth. As someone said this fight should never have been sanctioned.

One of the commentators think his orbital socket could be broken

He was fine the towel should not have gone in, I think he would have been knocked out later on in the fight but this is about entertainment and throwing the towel in at that stage isn't great really when he could clearly have carried on and wasn't that badly hurt. Crowd certainly weren't happy and I'm not surprised.

Brooke has confirmed it - right decision. What a shame.

On the american live stream I'm watching both GGG and his trainer rated his performance as only a 4. He said that he tried too hard to knock Kell out because he couldn't feel any power from Brook.

Talking to Brook now and he has re-confirmed problems with his eye (which makes his performance even more impressive) but says he wanted to continue fighting (which makes me even more impressed with him) he says he will stay at 154 from now on.

Then don't. But at least have respect for men who put their lives on the line every time they enter the ring.

GGG certainly wasn't at his best, wonder if its partly related to GGG being ill leading up to the fight, he was still too good and was always going to win this fight but looked a bit off to me on his usual standards.

Exactly this, well said.

Ingle protected his fighter from serious damage, he made the right call.

of course i do. i can say that i think that was stopped too early and i am pretty sure most would agree. just thought a potential classic fight was cut too short. happens too much in this country imo.

Most? Maybe most of the ones who "hardly watch boxing". I've seen plenty of poor stoppages in this country, some outright criminal, and that wasn't one of them. Golovkin was unloading with Brook on the ropes, there was no coming back. It is what it is; a welterweight fighting a brutal middleweight. Brook gave him a few things to think about, regardless of what Golovkin or his trainer say in the interview on HBO, but in the end it was just too much. Pretty much how it was predicted to go.

well i have to completely disagree with you on that one. the part you said he was 'unloading on him' he was barely hitting him. ggg was throwing wildly and missing most of his shots. that was plain to see.

the part i bolded is just silly from you.
