Decisions like this are killing the sport.
That stoppage would never have happened 20 years ago. That trainer should lose his job for that.its a mans sport ffs. Kell Brook could not win that fight last night, if you think he could you must have been watching Match of the Day instead. He was well beaten by the 5th round so why let him suffer anymore ? The ignorance shown on here is staggering |

And not making decisions like that are killing people's careers. Broken eye socket which would have only gotten worse. Every single respected boxing pundit said it was the best possible decision by Brendan Ingle yet a couple of anonymous posters on an Internet site think otherwise. I know who I agree with.

It wasn't that long ago that Nick Blackwell's career came to an abrupt end due imo to him being allowed to take more punishment than was necessary against Eubank jr. Blackwell's trainer should of had him out of there long before the final bell. |

Have I missed something, why is boxing "a man's sport"??
Nicola Adams has just showed at the Olympics that it is very much not just a sport for the men. |

Batdude, you should work for the equal opportunities commission... Your championing of minorities and women in various threads is admirable

However it is a bit off to say that boxing is a man's game, just as it is when people say the same thing about football, or most other sports. |

So it looks like Billy Joe next for GGG provided Billy Joe wins his next fight.

Hearn was desperately trying to talk up a fight between Kell and Khan on the radio this morning though he said Alvarez is their next most likely target. |

Really? BJS has stated often that he wants nothing to do with GGG. Maybe the ease with which Brook was able to hit him has changed his mind. But as I've said on this thread before, GGG has always been hittable. It's just that he has a Mount Rushmore head and hits back much harder.

BJS put out a video saying he'll fight him. he wants to meet him and will agree to any date. He also said GGG will be fighting a proper middleweight not a welterweight and he saw a lot of flaws that he can exploit.

Would that be the same flaws that Kell and his team saw, to the point they felt sure Kell would knock out GGG.

And if Brook was stopped in the fifth round, i cant imagine what Golovkin will do to him |

I agree carrying on with that injury would have been a bad move. Not sure if he was well beaten because according to the scorecards he was in front. One thing Kell did was show other boxers GGG can be hurt no matter what he says, kell did hurt him. Some of them punches would of knocked other fighters down.
Quote:
Not really sure what flaws he saw. I saw kell hit him with some good shots that would have probably knocked out other fighters including BJS. Kell did stun him because GGG reacted by shaking his head to say it didn't hurt which is a sure sign it did. It's just a shame fight ended with an injury.

Well i cant see Billy Joe Saunders beating him as he is not as good as Kell Brook
And if Brook was stopped in the fifth round, i cant imagine what Golovkin will do to him BJS is a world champion at middleweight, more than we'll ever say for Kell. Think Saunders/Golovkin would be a much closer match than that yesterday. |

Are you hinting that Kell Brook was in charge and in control last night ? because he certainly wasn't. I don't care what the scorecards said after 4 rounds, that is irrelevant. GGG was starting to exert real pressure

I'm saying kell caught him with some good shots and we don't know what would of happened had he not received that injury.

Hearn was desperately trying to talk up a fight between Kell and Khan on the radio this morning though he said Alvarez is their next most likely target. Canelo has famously ducked Golovkin already & it will only open him up to further ridicule if he starts feasting on Golovkin's leftovers. Alvarez v Brook is a total waste of time: people want to see him fight Golovkin, not another over hyped mismatch against another game welterweight that doesn't really belong in the ring with him. |

They should have given them each a pair of caestus and let them fight to the death. Meanwhile in the real world, I have not seen the fight yet but it went pretty much as expected - GGG is simply on a different planet to any other middleweight in the world. When someone can identify a weakness in the bloke please let me know?

I think his only shortcoming is he gets hit to often, fortunately for him he has a chin made of Titanium.

My thoughts exactly but as his chin is on a level with Hagler I just don't see that happening unless he meets a truly supernatural puncher - and as far as I know most fighters operate by the natural laws of biomechanics.
![]() There are no Julian Jacksons around today at 160, so I can't see anyone denting Golovkin's chin, unless he suddenly grows old. |
