Mayweather looked backed to his best again.

I'm glad that he's signed this new deal because he just hasn't fought often enough in the last 5 or so years.

Also, another routine defence for Wladimir.

I can see Wladimir retiring out of sheer boredom.

Has there ever been time when heavyweight boxing was more boring?

it does seem a bit light on world class boxers at the minute

FMJ should take a Martinez fight while the latter is still relatively in one piece. On the face of it it looks like a mega fight but FMJ should win comfortably.

The fighter with the best chance of beating FMJ is still Canelo.

Neither did I.

Where's 'Parcel Force' Harrison when you need him?

He unofficially killed PPV boxing on Sky the last time he appeared on PPV, now I need him to return to stink the joint out again so that the suits at Sky put an end to PPV boxing.

I suspect the PPV will flop, which is a shame in a way because it'll be a good fight and certainly more deserving than some of the efforts on Sky Box Office over the years. But I despise PPV so I won't be too bothered. Audley didn't kill it, Haye did.

BIB Spot on the lack luster Klitschko fight was the final nail in the coffin for them when it came to PPV boxing after his previous displays left a lot to be desired off! I agree with you to i think the Frotch/Kessler fight will flop i dont see this attracting the casual viewers as much as Haye's heavyweight title matches did! It should be a good fight though!

As for Mayweather he was just simply awesome last night he made everything look so easy just unbelievable movement, being able to predict Guerreo's shots in fact just everything was a dream! My only surprise it was only 6 rounds he won by i think i counted 8 or 9 rounds he won!

In the news:

Pacman vs Rios November 23rd in Macau

Khan thinks he would 'trouble' FMJ

Hopkins would like to fight Froch

And JMM thinks Mares could be the next Mexican great, which I agree with. Mares is the real deal

noone watching the action from the Emirates Arena, Glasgow?

Brilliant fight between John Simpson and Choi, the judges scored it convincingly to Simmo, i thought it was closer but a deserved win for the Scotsman.

the main event coming on now Ricky Burns v Jose Gonzalez, hopefully the fighting pride of Scotland can come out on top but expecting a tough fight

Well done to Jamie McDonnell, IBF Bantamweight world champion. Fought a Mexican with a pretty looking record but outboxed him to a (fair) points win.

Don't know much about this Burns opponent, seems like he might be dangerous.

Oi oi this might be interesting, early days but Gonzalez looks the better fighter in there.

Worrying start from the Champ, Gonzalez looks a tricky character

Don't know where they've been hiding this fella. Looks more than tricky, he looks like a very, very good boxer. I'd be astonished if Burns won this now.

Gonzalez put in some really good body shots then...... He looks the real deal

I would love Burns to win though

Thought the Rickster was losing that but Gonzalez throws in the towel.

Glad Ricky is still Champ but that was tougher than expected

Burns dodged a bullet there it has to be said. Either poor conditioning or a glass heart from the Puerto Rican.

Jim Watt was right though,,,, whoever got over round 7 the best could win the fight. I can't believe Gonzalez didn't want anymore though, he was winning it.

Tough fight for Burns that

Broken hand or wrist apparently, whether that turns out to be true or not, we'll see. Conditioning was affecting him towards the end, fantastic showing up until then though, the commentary was quite dire throughout.

Even if a broken hand is true, it's a world title fight and you're way ahead on the cards, you carry on and have a walk for the rest of the fight.

That's why he's a challenger and not a champion. Martinez breaks his hand, he fights on. He breaks his nose, he fights on. That's why he's a champion.

What's wrong with this kid?

Interesting to see where Burns goes after this. I've got my doubts that a Broner fight will ever happen, and the other options at the top of lightweight are Miguel Vasquez and Richard Abril, who are both very awkward and will not make for good fights, both for Burns and the audience.
