I genuinely wonder why I watch boxing at times when it is so obviously bent.
You would have to be deaf, dumb and blind to score that fight a draw, let alone to burns. |

not sure how the American judge had Ricky 3 points up, was it because he was fighting a Mexican?

The referee was a ****ing joke as well. Burns thought he was on Strictly Come Dancing all night long. |

IF I was beltran I would be pretty pissed off tonight as it seemed he clearly won the fight. Ricky is a very very very lucky man indeed

Burns has had a decent run, but he's on borrowed time now. He got away with it last time when Gonzalez turned out to have a glass heart, and he got away with it this time after judges favours, and these aren't even the top guys in the division. He'll probably have a long lay-off now then fight Crolla or someone uninspiring like that, and I believe Terence Crawford is his mandatory, who I'd put down to beat him.

Crazy scoring by the judges, Burn should thank his lucky stars specially the american judge that ruled in his favour.
Crazy. |

I always thought it was impossible to win in Mexico on points not the other way round
Can there be a protest /investigation into the verdict. Disgraceful decision |

Can't see him fighting again I think Burns is in Khan territory now where he is a good fighter, but against the elite I don't see a win. |

It just said on SSN that Oscar De La Hoya has checked himself into a rehab for substance abuse.
Didn't mention which substance though It means he will miss the Mayweather / Alvarez fight http://uk.news.yahoo.com/la-hoya-tre...191600687.html |

I am so hyped for this weekend, i've been following boxing fanatically since about 2007 and I can't think of a bigger event since that time than this weekend, I can't wait for Garcia vs Matthyse, it's going to be awesome!

Matthysse v Garcia is more like the main event for me. No doubt the Mayweather v Alvarez fight will be Floyd dancing around an outskilled opponent, as usual. I may have a sneaky bet on Garcia, without much confidence in it mind you.

I can't wait for either fight and I think they will both be a lot closer than people expect. I'll be staying up all night for 'The One'
![]() I have put a fiver on Alvarez to win by knockout, if he wins he will have to knock him out, can't see him out scoring Mayweather for 12 rounds. Realistically I think Mayweather will win on points by a few rounds, should be agreat fight though! |

The prevailing wisdom is that Matthysse will KO Garcia, but Garcia can punch too & it will be interesting to see if Matthysse is all brawn & no brain, or whether he can be a Tommy Hearns like puncher who can box his opponent if his power isn't having the desired effect. This weekend is a really fantastic weekend of boxing in prospect. It's great to see the best fighting each other & putting reputations on the line. As for Canelo -v- Mayweather, I think 'Money' will outbox Alvarez due to Alvarez being a bit slow footed, but his physical size & strength could come into play & it will be interesting to see how Mayweather handles a bigger & stronger guy who is in his prime. Saying that, Mayweather played a blinder by getting Canelo to weigh in at 150lbs though. |

I'd just like to belatedly add my disgust at last weekends judges decision in the Burns/Beltran fight.
How one judge could see Burns a few points up is beyond me, the English judge coring it level was equally as baffling. Beltran was robbed. No wonder he seemed disillusioned in his interview afterwards. |
