To be fair I only put that in to highlight the magnitude of a Khan victory over Mayweather! That Douglas win is considered one of the biggest upset ever wasn't he 42-1 to win, now that is huge and a fair comparison in difference and expectation!

I was only 1 when that happened all my knowledge from that is from reading up on it and from that i would agree with you about a lot of factors that lead up to it which shows Tyson wasn't the fighter that was being made out at that time! But didnt Douglas get knocked out by Holyfield in his next fight?

I could have put when Rahman beat Lewis in South Africa 12 years ago, that was a big shock even though it shouldn't have been!

that was an upset if there ever was one. Many felt Tyson could be exposed due to his declining skills but few thought Douglas was the man to do it. I though Holy was going to give Mike big problems in 91, how I wish that fight happened...

I cant believe Khan is getting a fight with Mayweather. what an opportunity, will probably be a fun fight as well, despite the fact he will lose lol. I think he deserves it to be honest. even though he has lost a few big fights he showed a lot of heart and didnt let his spirit get broken. I'm not a fan of the guy but I admire his love of boxing, which is more than you can say for a lot of these phonies that dont wanna fight.

If you're in a position to do so, I'd definitely go for it.

'Money' Mayweather is the best boxer on Earth; the best boxer of his generation & a nailed on ATG for sure.

If you can get to watch a fighter of that magnitude live, it will be worth it, even if the opponent is not Amir Khan.

Three cheers for Povetkin's shady Russian mafia backers.”

Should be a good fight.

Povetkin is the best of the rest IMO, so should be able to at least test Wlad.

Late stoppage for Wlad for me.

Hello there stranger

Yes, Douglas did get Ko'd by Holyfield in 3 rounds in his next fight. Douglas was in awful shape with rolls of fat on him and been partying since he beat Tyson. That Douglas would have been splattered by even the Tyson that was in decline.

As for Lewis vs Rahman.
Again, before the fight it was rumoured Lewis didn't take Rahman seriously and trained poorly for the fight, He looked dreadful from round one and it was no surprise he got his ass kicked that night.

Hasn't Lewis admitted that his prep for the first fight was awful? Looked out of sorts in that fight. Didn't he only arrive the week of the fight aswell?

Lewis turned up in South Africa 11 days before the fight, which is in defiance of common wisdom which states you need 6 weeks to acclimatise to the high altitude.

Lewis' poor preparation was apparent within minutes as he tired very quickly & Rahman splattered him in 5.

Managed to met Evander Holyfield yesterday in Manchester. Was a very chance meeting as I was working in the area and noticed he was having a photo shoot in a side street.

He was there doing some charity work. What a lovely guy, shame the same can't be said for the guys from Team Hatton who was doing his security work.

Just watched it again on YouTube. Lewis didn't look as bad as I rememberd. Yes he tired, but so did Rahman. As we all know, with the heavy weights, it only takes 1 punch to end a fight.

Very true.

Just look at the Lewis -v- Rahman rematch?

That was also a devastating & sudden finish, but this time, Rahman was on the receiving end.

Two quality knockouts.

Lewis wasn't going to make the same mistake again. Rematch was a great display iirc. And a great KO shot.

Anyone know when the Klitschko fight is due to start?

Povetkin is a bum, I doubt he could beat Fury, Haye or Delboy, actually I guarantee he couldn't beat them.

He's held on to a title by dodgy decisions and fighting over the hill boxers.

Wlad will need a knock out otherwise like the others he will be screwed out of a win

In terms of Khan vs Floyd

Khan can do no worse than Canelo and The Ghost

A loss is a loss

One thing I know is Khan will at least come to fight unlike Canelo who gave up and was reluctant to engage.

You cant outbox Floyd, instead you have to put consistent pressure on him like Cotto did, use the jab, Khan has a beautiful jab, I think he can nick a few rounds, and win a controversial SD, on the other hand Khan could also get knocked out.

With Khan anything is possible due to his weak punch resistance.

It'll be a fun fight to watch due to Khans high work rate, the opponent is forced to work at his pace, Floyd normally works at his own pace, but in this fight he will find he has to work on a faster level.

Watching a stream at the moment and people have been saying 8pm or 9pm, and it's not started yet so probably in an hour.

Not expecting Wlad to be tested too much. Povetkin doesn't look anything like the guy that dominated Chagaev. Could well be wrong though!

He has a punchers chance, if he can get in close enough.

Closer it gets more I think it will be another Kiltschko walk over.

Not much of a big puncher, he'll need a combo to hurt Wlads chin

Haye hit Wlad with a beautiful right in round 11 and Wlads legs stiffened, but he was unable to follow up with another punch

You cant pot shot Wlad, getting combos off on Wlad when ur a shorter guy is very difficult

Sounds like it's going to be a smaller ring than Wlad is used to, probably so he can't move around as much. Add that to the potentially dodgy judges and we could have a good fight in store. Wlad might have no choice other than to stop Povetkin!

Wlad got a ref of his choice, who is known to allow excessive grabbing, so that will benefit Wlad, he loves to hold
