By the time of the Douglas fight he was standing square on, very easy to hit, and just walking in in straight lines throwing increasingly crude, slugging punches. Everything he'd been taught under Cus and Kevin Rooney was going out of the window.
Significantly, Tyson was decked in training by a washed up Greg Page, and he was out drinking in Japan leading up to the fight.
Before he even became a champ 'Team Tyson' always knew he'd go off the rails, it was just a question of when.”

To be fair I only put that in to highlight the magnitude of a Khan victory over Mayweather! That Douglas win is considered one of the biggest upset ever wasn't he 42-1 to win, now that is huge and a fair comparison in difference and expectation!
I was only 1 when that happened all my knowledge from that is from reading up on it and from that i would agree with you about a lot of factors that lead up to it which shows Tyson wasn't the fighter that was being made out at that time! But didnt Douglas get knocked out by Holyfield in his next fight?
I could have put when Rahman beat Lewis in South Africa 12 years ago, that was a big shock even though it shouldn't have been!
