They should boo the referee not Froch.

Froch had Groves almost down - ref shouldn't have stopped it though.

They were booing before Froch even spoke. It's not his fault the ref stopped the fight early.

And if Froch hadn't been talking nonsense at ringside it would have stayed that way.

I never said it was his fault the ref stopped it.

Froch didn't cover himself in any glory with his post-match interview.

Absolute nonsense. He's a fighter, of course he isn't going to say it, boxers talk crap at times but that doesn't change the fact that he's in there putting his life on the line for the entertainment of the people in that crowd, he, along with Groves both fought their hearts out in that ring, they both deserve nothing but respect.

Nobody but the ref should be getting shit from the crowd. He shouldn't ref again as far as i'm concerned.

They were booing the decision. When he said the ref was right to stop it they booed him and I think that was fair

This has all the hallmarks of the recent GSP fight in the UFC, with the contriversal decision in that one as well.

I was commenting on the fans booing before Froch had even spoken. It's like they were blaming Froch for the stoppage.

No, they were booing Froch before then.

Plus from his (Froch) perspective he may have felt that he had Groves finished so felt the referee was right.

This wasn't a controversial decision, it was a premature stoppage. Although the way two of the judges were scoring it, it could have gone that way!

True, I meant from the perspective of the challenger doing more than enough to get the victory, and not doing so, due to other people's decisions (the ref here, and the judges there).

Something came up and I cannot believe I missed out on a top fight again!!! And from the sounds of it, it was a top fight? Groves had Froch down? Didn't think he was capable of that, fair play to him. And the ref stopped it without even giving Groves a count? Was Groves spark out on his feet or what?

Whether he felt that way or not he can't blame people for passionately disagreeing.

Groves put Froch down in the first round. Groves won 6 of the 8 rounds I reckon. Froch had Groves hurt in the 9th round but the ref stepped in far too early, it was the first time Groves had been hurt.

Froch would have went on to win the fight I think, but was a bit behind up until the stoppage

I don't think that Groves was spark out at all , just under a bit of pressure but nowhere near as bad as Froch was in the first .

The fact that he let Froch carry on compounds the error the ref made in stopping it far too early .

Cheers for that. Will have to wait for the fight to be put on 'tube. Sounds a bit like the Jermain Taylor fight, except Froch didn't leave it so late this time.

I've never liked Froch and can imagine how distasteful his post-fight comments were, but he is a warrior.

Did he give Groves a count at least?

Obviously Rupert Murdoch was telling the ref in his ear to stop the fight so he can make more £14.99's out of the subscribers.

He didn't knock him down, so no count.
