Froch used to knock out domestic level opponents, then his power never fully transferred to the world stage. Make of that what you will.

Who was going to knock out who with a right hand again?
Great punch by Froch. Crowd were booing and I'm glad I didn't pay to see it, but it was still an intense boxing match. I actually thought that George Groves was slightly ahead and might nick it on points. Until.... Froch was winning 69-66 by me.

He won't retire at 26! He still has a lot to offer to the sport and will get better.

Poor fight if I am being honest - brilliant punch from Froch though and you just don't get up from them.
I feel Groves left his fight in the ring and let the hype get to him - Froch really didn't box well and used his experience to great effect, it just shows one punch can alter everything. |

EDIT: Two judges had Froch ahead and one Groves. |

What about Ward?
Carl deserves another go at the only man he has never beaten. |

I thought Jim Watt saw the fight in a too black and white way in Froch's favour (before the stopage punch).

compared to the last fight it was pretty poor, carl looked the business you could tell he was far more up for it, and george decided to slow himself down, he should have went in no fear he may have got knocked out round 1 but thats boxing isn't it!
George was caught with a sucker punch though you cant get up from those!, all in all George could have gone in all guns blazing |

Think GGG is a natural middleweight and won't want to budge. JCCjr is a maybe.

Thank god got a clean finish tonight with no arguements and thanks for the streams to the 3 guys who PM'd me.
The fight went exactly as I suspected with Froch playing a completly different game plan this time and winning fairly easily in the end. |

Was a good fight, devastating KO!
I thought the commentary was awful on SBO though. They had it as Froch dominating, he wasn't. He (Froch) was throwing the most punches yes, but he wasn't connecting clean at all. Whereas Groves was throwing fewer punches, but connecting with the more clean punches. The commentary seemed very bias to me. They rarely gave Groves any credit, and were crediting Froch when he hadn't really warranted it. But the knockout was well timed, devastating, and brutal. Froch is a world class fighter, and he proved tonight that he can go with anyone. He deserves his Vegas fight. I hope this isn't the end of Groves. He needs to work harder than ever now in order to work himself back up the ranks. But tonight was a massive set back. |

I really think Groves went in with fear there was no speed to his performance and Carl actually put in the yards this time and ensured there was no mistakes. Quote:

I had Groves a few rounds up tbh, didn't agree with the commentary at all.

I'm hugely disappointed in Groves. The first fight clearly got to him far more than it did Froch. He fought like someone who was scared of running out of steam and showed very little ambition or purpose. Several times he caught Froch and stunned him, but didn't follow up. The rest of the time he was reaching with jabs that fell way short like he was afraid of being countered. Great punch to finish it and Froch deserved the win. He was cautious himself, but it was always him that instigated the exchanges and he tried to make a fight of it. Frankly, Groves deserved to get flattened for coming into the arena in a bus FFS! I can't stand all that shit. This is boxing, not a fcuking circus! |

You're right about Groves. He fought like he was scared and threw almost nothing with any real purpose. It was just tentative jabs that fell well short for most of the fight. A real let down after all the hype. I'd be pretty pissed if I'd paid to see that. |

[quote=Flat Matt;72921804]I agree. The fight didn't live up to the hype at all. The crowd were booing on more than one occasion because of the lack action.
