Wladimir will defend his titles at MSG 25th April against Bryant Jennings (Might be another unbeaten record that goes up in smoke)

Wilder performed a lot better than I thought he would, was expecting stiverne to take control after round 8.
What do people think re a fury v wilder fight? Fury is too easy to hit & doesn't punch hard enough, but in his favour, his balls are bigger than his mouth, so he could make in an interesting fight. |

![]() http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/30898190 Wladimir is 40 this year, but still looks like he hasn't lost anything, which is truly remarkable. Although this era has been weak, since Lennox Lewis quit a decade ago, Wladimir deserves credit for being at the top of the HW pile for so long. |

Mayweather Jr -v- Pacquiao
http://www.tmz.com/2015/01/30/floyd-may ... fight-set/
It looks like the biggest fight of 2008 is on! At last, it looks like the most tedious fight saga in boxing history is at an end & will culminate in Pacquiao sharing a ring with Mayweather Jr. Thank goodness we will now be spared more pictures of them exchanging mobile phone numbers at 'chance' meetings & meeting in hotel lobbies & they will now meet in a boxing ring; shame it's 7 years too late. Thanks Floyd! ![]() Thanks Manny!

^^^ Let's be honest, it's not Manny's fault. And I'm a huge Mayweather fan, but I do believe the one stain on his legacy is that he has ducked the pac-man. And according to latest reports, the deal is still a long way from being signed....

By the time they do sign to fight each other, they'll both be so old that they'll need space for the zimmer frames in each corner.

I don't believe it to be a case of ducking. I believe both of them want to fight. Both promoters know it's time to cash out on them both with Floyd's Showtime deal nearing an end and Manny's career coming to a close. What it has come down to now is CBS and HBO negotiations about simulcasting the fight, and that is even more of a minefield than the negotiations between the fighters.

Anyway, will be spending this weekend watching a fight that is definitely on; the rematch between Paul Smith and Arthur Abraham. I didn't give Smith a snowball's chance in hell for the first fight so didn't watch - and the guys on here reckon he won. Going to make sure I watch this one.... |

Radio 5Live will be essential listening tonight at 8pm.
They'll be interviewing James 'Buster' Douglas as it's 25 years since he handed the man monster that was Mike Tyson his first defeat. I can't believe it was quarter of a century already.

They may have a point with the steroid accusations, but I'm betting there is no drug test clause now that Manny has been beaten twice in row and never really looked the same fighter since.
Every fighter Mayweather fights is subjected to random testing. This would be no different.

So the fight everybody wanted is taking place in the next couple of months - to me the myth of these two great boxers has been somewhat lost over the last 18 months ... 2 great warriors/artists facing each other in their prime and what gives, sadly I don't see it happening that way no matter the marketing.
Great matchup that will no doubt be hyped to the max - however I think Mayweather has taken this fight with very little relative risk to his name ... Pacman has a puncher's chance of winning and I say that as Pacman fan and a Mayweather hater ... this has got that sort of stink about it. |

Yes it's too late but I'm still mad hyped. Whether now or 3-4 years ago the result for me is the same.
Mayweather by UD. |

At least the fight is on at last. I think Mayweather will win, but if he's odds-on, I'll have a crafty monkey on Manny. Some good boxing on tonight.... |

A credible effort from Smith but he was never in it really. Abraham is rapidly declining.

National pride goes out of the window for me in this, I like Golovkin too much to want him to lose. I've got a tiny, sneaking suspicion that he won't though
