Maidana was all pressure. Ricky Hatton was all pressure. Cotto was pressure. Mayweather can handle fighters who try to pressure him as his inside game is very very good. His stronger than one thinks. As for the power argument. Mayweather has a good chin. He got nailed clean bang on the button from Mosley and Maidana and took the shots. Paquaio isnt ko’ing Mayweather.
PHP Code:
Maidana, Hatton, Cotto? They are not in Pacquiao's league. Come fight night, FM will really see what 12 rounds pressure is.
There is a reason for that. While not having one punch power Mayweather still hits hard enough to gain respect. His a sharpshooter, the most accurate puncher in the sport and fighters cant just walk him down without running the risk of being nailed by slick counters. Mayweather reduces opponents output. If Pacquiao lunges in like he does regularly his getting nailed and the best punch to hit a southpaw with is the straight right hand. Mayweather has the best straight right in the business and will walk Paquiao onto it.
PHP Code:
The only time Pacquiao 'lunged in' was against Marquez (4). He paid the price and will have learnt from that. Pacquiao is a master of feints if you watch his fights.
Bradley who is nowhere near as quick as Floyd still nailed Pacquiao with plenty of right hands.
PHP Code:
Bradley is faster than FM imo.

Froch v Groves rematch
Well, it's now reported that the rematch will take place on Saturday 31st May at Wembley stadium and it will be a huge fight.
Groves has had injuries in the past that have delayed fights, and whether he pulls out or not remains to be seen. Froch has also had injuries but has chosen to fight through them rather than postpone or cancel a fight. Calzaghe did similar, and most notably against Lacy in a fight that he subsequently dominated.
Tactics?! Froch should win, but needs to work hard on tactics, and avoid getting hit as much. He managed to adjust well for the Kessler rematch which bodes well, as he was too confident and dismissive in the first fight there and paid the price. It was similar against Groves in the first fight, and again, he got hit far too much.
Froch needs to work hard to ensure he is fully fit and injury free, and get his tactics spot on. He knows he can't beat Groves for speed early on, and when Groves gets in range, Froch needs to use feints and punish Groves hard to the body. Maybe fighting on the back foot to start with is an idea, with a lot more sideways movement, and much quicker footwork. Groves will probably try to hit and run this time around and nick the fight on points. That won't work unless Froch is on the slide and 'gets old overnight' as they say, since he always seems to be able to hunt quick opponents down and is the best finisher in boxing. Ward only just beat him, and Groves is nowhere near Ward's class.
In the first fight, to be fair to Groves he had a very good idea as to what combinations Froch would use and when, and did well to slip many of Froch's power shots. As already mentioned, feints by Froch and a few new angles would be a good idea for the second fight. As Groves slows in the later rounds, Froch will pick him off and knock him out imo. Groves' only hope is to knock Froch out early, but as Froch showed in the first fight, he can take Groves' power, but Groves can't take Froch's power.
The early rounds will be crucial, and Froch needs to be on top of his game to avoid hurtful punches. He was ridiculously slow early on in the first fight and has to improve there. Joe Calzaghe had the perfect attitude, and it was to always train as the challenger both mentally and physically. If Carl Froch can do that, then it's a Froch win by KNOCK OUT.
Will mind games play a part? The public aren't stupid, and Groves is deluding himself if he thinks that anybody other than idiots fall for his goading. If Froch gets drawn in, he only has himself to blame. Any reasonably intelligent person would just ignore Groves and laugh at him. At the end of the day, it's what a boxer / fighter does in the ring that counts, and for all Groves' boasting before the last fight, it was Groves that ended up looking like an idiot, especially in the latter rounds.
The only hope for GG is a flat performance from Carl Froch on the night. It happened with Naseem Hamed, although there it was his weight before the fight and a lack of hunger and desire that did the damage, and even then he only just lost against a peak condition Barrera. I can't see Froch making those mistakes.
I certify that this is a true and fair reflection of my thoughts at this time
By the way, if anyone has Carl Froch's contact details, can they let me know. This advice isn't free!
