A real treat tomorrow night with Matthyse vs Provodnikov. I have no idea what is going to happen. I think i'm going to favour Matthyse slightly, if he lands the kind of punches that stopped Molina then I can see a TKO, nobody survives those kind of bombs.

I don't know the answer TBH, but I would guess that with a fight this big, it could be at least 14 days before they considered showing it on Sky Sports.

Dunno, Hearn did all right out of the Bellew-Cleverly PPV, and back in the day Sky had Khan on PPV knocking over journeymen until Prescott flattened him.
I think it'll get to the stage where anybody remotely good on Matchroom's books will be PPV, he seems to be aiming for the casual fan the way he's hyping things up, he tries to make AJ steamrollering elderly bouncers seem like Ali-Frazier. ![]() |

Bellew - Clev only do so well because of the needle between the fighters. It was real. It was fierce. People tuned in because they expected a slugfest. I don't get that impression from the Brook - Gavin fight.
It all depends on what sort of numbers the need to break even. Say 150,000 PPV buys is what it takes to break even then you can see why they believe that even fights such as Brook V Gavin is worth running as PPV. Also I think the Brook v Jo Dan Dan fight did good ratings which probably makes them think a fight v Gavin can be PPV. Personally I think they need to look beyond simply number and appreciate its more important to get Brook seen by as many people possible and then do PPV fights. |

Hi guys. Just a heads up that the fight will be available on virgin media from Monday for just under £20. Subscribing after midnight on the 1st May will be an extra fiver or so. No HD available which is annoying, but this will be my first ever PPV as I want to watch this one on my big screen not low-def pixels on my comp screen.
Apparently tickets are still not on sale. Greedy barstewards really trying to ramp up the demand for this one.... |

Money, Money Mayweather :P
Think the Pac man has bitten off more than he can chew here. He has the speed over Floyd but I think Floyd will cut the ring off, make it smaller so Pac can't have that speed advantage. And then eventually wear him down and win on points, that is vintage Floyd. |

What time will the ring walks start UK time? What time do Mayweather fights normally start at?

Silly question, and I apologise in advance for it, but which of Tyson Fury and David Price is the loudmouth ? I know boxers exude confidence but which of those two is the mouthiest ? Also why did they not meet a couple of years ago ?

You only need to purchase it once and you get all of the repeat showings included. |

@Jimmy McNulty: as far as I know, there is no HD available on Virgin. It might be available elsewhere? I was going to buy it today but have had an offer to go to a bar with some friends and pay a tenner instead... undecided as of yet..... |

Fury by miles. If he could get a boxing glove on his mouth he would be truly dangerous. Price isn't a loudmouth by any stretch of the imagination. I think Fury pulled out of the Price fight because they weren't paying enough - or so he says. Price beat Fury when they were both amateurs. But I do think Fury would win if they fought today.

Are any of you ordering the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight on PPV? I was thinking about it but when I saw the price is at £19.95 or something like that and just short of £25 if you order the fight on the night itself, I'm thinking NO WAY! Even when fights were on PPV at £14.95 I thought it was too much.
Why do the broadcasters give into this for? Mayweather has made loads from PPV as have other fighters and its high time they settled for good millions and fight on normal subscription channels or no deal! And has Sky ever charged PPV for any other sport esp football or it it just boxing fans they like to charge even more?! I personally think this fight has come way too late to be worth it now, Mayweather only agreed to the fight once Pacquiao got knocked out in a fight but he was very hesitant before, esp when Pacquiao destroyed Hatton, and I think that says a lot about Mayweather as to when he chooses to fight people. Though I've read and heard that Hatton suspects some foul play from Pacquiaoi on the same grounds as Mayweather was back for their original negotatiations. Is this fight going to be on radio btw? |

I was listening to radiio 5 Live last night and heard all about Mayweather's violence against women. I had no idea he'd abused so many different women.
I respect his skills as a boxer but he's one detestable human being! ![]() I would love nothing more than not only a victory for Manny, but to see Mayweather ending up humiliated and flat on his back. |

I won't be buying PPV for a fight that should have happened six years ago; I shall be watching a nice live stream from.........................................................
I'd rather not say!

Personally I don't give a toss if this fight is 20 quid or 40 quid of if it should have happened 6 years ago I'll be buying it and watching it in HD on my large screen telly, not listening on radio or getting eye strain via a dodgy mickey mouse screen SD online spam link. This is what's called a super fight and it's not often they come around so you either splash out and watch it right, or not at all.

Pacquiao v Mayweather the last word
Can't resist just one more comment on this super fight. I have always backed Pacquaio, and said that Mayweather has never faced a fighter with Manny's speed, accuracy, heart and power. The one caveat was whether Pacquaio was declining, and it looks like he's in great shape.
The prediction remains. It's almost always the fighter who trash talks who eventually loses big fights, and FM has been doing some trash talking. Imo, it's a sign of nerves and it's what Hatton did to Mayeather before he was soundly beaten. The better fighter usually just stays clam and confident, and goes on to win. FM to get exposed on the night by Manny Pacquaio's speed, accuracy etc. FM is GOING DOWN!

To me, this is not a superfight. It's a super hyped fight, but no longer a superfight. IMHO, a superfight would be like Leonard -v- Hearns 1; a bout between the two best welterweights on the planet; both men in their primes & meeting to decide who THE best welterweight in the world. I don't think this fight fits into that category anymore. It's still an intriguing fight, but it's no longer the superfight it would have been a few years ago. I will enjoy watching it on my TV via a 'dodgy Mickey Mouse stream', whilst basking in the knowledge that I didn't pay a king's ransom for it. |

The main thing about his fight is that both men have declined; it's just a question as to how much. If they were both in their primes, I'd have no trouble picking Mayweather, but because this fight has happened so late, it makes it more difficult to call for me. |
