I was idly surfing around for some examples of Saturday night TV entertainment in the good old days and found a couple of interesting clips.

Firstly, this is a young looking Brucie, introducing a dance group. He certainly had a lot of charm:

The flagship weekend show, on ITV, was 'Sunday Night at the London Palladium'. It always seemed to be introduced by a dance troupe, the Tiller Girls. This is a typical example (no Brucie in this clip):

This clip, which seems to have been produced quite recently, shows Arlene Philips reminiscing about her own dance group, Hot Gossip. What Arlene says in this clip may be relevant to some of Ann Widdecombe's views:

Somehow, I don't think that Arlene would have had a lot of patience with Ann Widdecombe.
