Something has gone wrong with Xtra Factor? (Not just Konnie)
i have to add my voice to the people who dislike Konnie as a presenter of Xtra Factor. I'm sure she's a nice person etc. but she just work on this show. However, does it not seem like the entire show, including the producers, have really lost the plot?
All the stuff that Konnie does wrong e.g. asking blatantly negative questions about the contestants, letting through too many negative, personal comments on emails that she reads out (i.e. not filtering them), talking over people, appearing rude when ignoring people, not seeming to know the format or history of the X Factor... these are all things a producer should be controlling and guiding her on surely? And what about the sketches and comedy bits? They used to be a least moderately funny. This year they have been diabolical - like something put together by primary school kids. And a minor point but why do don't they change what's on the screens behind Konnie? Every week it's the same clips of Murs and Vickers. Is it beyond someone's talents to maybe swap the footage for something else one week? And the webcam chatroulette gimmick. It just looks so cheap and nasty when they cut to someone's webcam, fullscreen like that. Wouldn't most shows put a little logo or something on screen to jazz it up? It looks so downmarket. Does anyone know if there was a wholesale change in the Xtra Factor production team when Holly left? The whole show seems to have just gone down the tubes at every level. |

All the backstage gosip now appears in the X Factor magazine and all the comedy is now given to Matt Edmondson's "F Factor" video spot. It seems that no-one has properly thought through the provision of new material to replace the voids.
But it's not all bad news. Last nights episode got overnight ratings of 1.78 million so the advertisers must still be happy bunnies. |

Yes it is rubbish now, apart from the phone in with the judges.

Even the phone is gets cocked up because Konnie doesn't know how to steer the conversation to stop it becoming too negative or snipy.
I would also add the segment 'exposing' Mary's house to the list of mistakes, or things done very badly and unprofessionally. |

the extra factor has always been guff designed to flog the golden goose some more - hence it being on itv 8. i can barely watch the main show without complaining about something or other - it was 'american anthems' this week (who exactly sang an american anthem). why not just call it, sing what you like week (but make the song 'your own')... honestly i'd rather pull my own teeth out than watch xtra factor

Sinitta's skit is cringeworthy beyond belief. I can't even be embarrassed for her as she clearly signed up to do it.
Konnie is pretty awful, although some of her faux pas can be amusing. I agree though, that it is unnecessary for her to read out the negative comments from the emails that come in. Totally uncalled for. The show lacks the personality and charisma that Holly and previous hosts brought to it. I'm actually starting to miss barmy Jenny who used to regularly phone-in to speak to Simon each week! |

I used to like the "celebrity" panel, it was often interesting and worked because the previous presenters had charisma and kind of worked well with people. Same with the conestant bits and judge interview bits. Konnie just seems a bit, bleh. |

I miss the contestants being on properly. I've hardly seen them on there this year (though I should probably watch an Xtra show fully)

At least she's not Fearne Cotton.
But she's certainly not Holly either. Can't really remember Ben, he was very beige, IIRC. |

I miss when they used to have all the contestants on after the main show. That was the best bit for me and now it just seems like a total waste of time watching. Plus Konnie is a bit shit.

I miss the contestants too and for some reason I find it too cringeworthy to watch her interviewing them on stage...I'm not sure why?

Another classic last night: At the start she asked Katie "Why do you think you're not connecting with the audience?"
Katie answered and at the end said said "Hopefully next time I can." And Konnie was like... Can what? Katie "Connect with the audience" She forgot her own question! |

Who is this Matt Edmundson character?
May be as someone who has made a few X-Factor vids it's just jealousy but his "funny" clips are rubbish. Last week it was all painful, this week there was one mildly amusing bit with the Cheryl 'fart' but that was done to death on Youtube (as Matt admitted) anyway... Is he resposible for finding and editing these clips (In his mum's house with the xmas decorations that are up too early) or is he just an (w)anchor? It seems the part of the show he presents is an in-house version of TV Burp, without the humour. |
