I think Cheryl panicked.
I am glad Katie got through, I think she's great...but...
Unless the actual voting figures are published and it can be seen that TreyC got the lowest number of votes, then she should feel cheated and take it further. I don't think "we've run out of time" can be used an excuse. It's a disgrace. And Cheryl quite categorically stated that she wanted it to go to deadlock. I think that when Cheryl was (surprisingly) asked to vote second, she panicked and said she would take it to deadlock. As people have pointed out, one contestant could been saved at this point by all three judges so there would be no need for deadlock. But I think Cheryl had correctly guessed what the other judges would vote and had realised that her vote would have evened it out so it would have to go to deadlock. Neither Cheryl nor Katie are to blame for this cock-up. |

Cheryl is - she should have voted. That's what she is paid a million a series for!
I don't blame Katie at all - its not her fault she keeps getting saved. Cheryl however is another matter - she just doesn't want to be seen doing anything which might undermine her nation's sweetheart image. |

You can't vote to go to deadlock. You have to vote for a contestant.

I do understand that, but the fact remains, you can't say I'm taking it to deadlock unless you are the last judge asked. It's the producers fault really, because Cheryl should have been last.

She was going to vote, she said she wanted it to go to deadlock. She just wasn't given the opportunity.
Dermot was correct in taking it to the majority from the voting judges. |

She wanted to fix the vote, in other words cheat.
Dermot was correct in taking it to the majority from the voting judges. (Most of them don't you know). |

I think Cheryl had expected to be asked last and with a fair chance of it being 2 - 1 at that stage had decided to put it to deadlock so she woudn't so much be seen as the decisive factor in sending one of her acts home.
I think she did panic a bit when it suddenly came to her, which wasn't very good, but she did try to show what her intentions were. They should either ask the judges randomly or having established a norm ( I know not absolutely every other time ) of asking a judge with both acts last they should keep to that. It was really just a general cock-up with the order asked, Cheryl's reaction and the time thing rather than a conspiracy. Katie of course is certainly not to be blamed. It's like booing a footballer that folk don't think should be picked, it's not their fault. |

Cheryl did screw up here. She is paid to be a judge, even if it is her acts. I know she favours Katie so she should have stuck to that. However she was surprised to be 2nd in terms of voting order. She didn't expect it but she should have voted regardless

Louis easily could have taken it to deadlock had Cheryl voted either way (Simon= Katie, Cheryl=Katie/Treyc, Dannii = Treyc, Louis = I choose to tie it and let the public decide). Either way Cheryl voted, I sense that Louis would have sent it to the vote. He did wail about it being hard to decide.
Although I guess if he really wanted to, he could have also abstained and left it at a tie, forcing one that way. But, however you slice it, the one certain thing is that it is fairly obvious that Cheryl didn't think quickly or clearly about it and has caused a bit of a sh*tstorm. Or...she was just following the script

By effectively NOT voting she voted for Katie to stay. That would have been her preference.
I think if Louie has said Katie to go, Sheerrrlllyy would have piped up for deadlock, cause it was Tracy she did not want in the comp. CHEAT |

"She panicked, she panicked. Poor wittle Cheryl"
The X Factor is 100% planned to an inch of it's life. Do you really think Dermot just ballsed up by going to her second. No. He was told to. It just cannot be coincidence that the first time the host has "accidentally" gone to the judge whose 2 acts are up for the chop, it just happened to be Princess Cheryl. And why did none of the other judges, or a stage-hand or producer or whatever scream into Dermot's ear to leave Cheryl's choice to the end like they have aaaaalways done?! Fix. Don't know WHY they keep this girl in, inadvertedly putting her through hell without her realising with all this bad press. Maybe she's sold her soul to the devil (Cowell) meaning he gets an 80% cut of any salaries from record contracts (unlikely!) to reality tv shows. It can't be because they want to release her, because it would be such a waste of money seeing as a) She is hated and b) She's got a shhhhhhhiiiiiiiite voice |

Honestly, I just think she is a bit dim. I don't mind her but she isn't the sharpest crayon in the box. |
