Clearly controversy pulls in more viewers. Next week could even get higher with the line-up of guests and a possible double elimination.

The whole show is about ratibg, nothing more or nothing less!

Ratings mean huge advertising revenue which is where ITV/Cowell make money.

The final winner is not really important. If they are talented like Leona or Alexandra then the financial investment of £1 million will be repaid over and over. If the winner is one hit wonder, then I very much doubt if much money will be lost. The prize money comes from the advertising revenue...no-one loses!

The more car crash TV it becomes, the more it is talked about in the media, and the more people watch even if only to 'rage against the screen'!....and so the ratings go up, and then they can charge more for the advert slots, so the revenue goes up. Controversy is good in Cowell's world ................for the time being at least! He knows exactly when to bale out!

Simon will be praying for Wagner v Katie bottom two.

He'll send wagner home and the internet will erupt in outrage.

I think they will want him on the tour though, so that ones probably in a fortnight.

The more controversial thing to do would be to get rid of Weasel and keep Wagner as surely he has had more than enough publicity out of Weasel?

No, wagners the 'anti hero' , internet favourite and tabloid icon.

Losing him to Katie would light the fire of rage like nothing ever seen before.
