How can they 'run out of time'
when most of the hour last night was made up of re-runs from Saturday and that shouty man doing intros.
Someone's head needs to roll. |

Someone's head needs to roll. Either its a load of bull, just to dramatise, or someone should get the sack. |

And they still had time to have a chat with Treyc and a look back at her best bits... Not as if they had to cut straight to the end of the show.

They answer is they dont run out of time. It's just what Dermot says to make the show more tense.
The time is allocated very precisely on the show, and even if it does run over, of course ITV are going to allow an extra couple of minutes of the X factor when its getting as much as 14million viewers |

Here's a few ideas
Ditch the 'LAST NIGHT' recap and the judges entrance. That will save about 10-15 minutes |

There will be a time allocated to talk to the one who is going home and see the VT of their best bits - it wouldn't be fair on the losing contestant to cut that short just because the judges were giving long boring and self evident speeches about how hard it is for them to choose who to send home. There is no question of overrunning into the adverts as it goes to the regions at that point with different adverts in different parts of the country, the costs involved in losing adverts are huge. |

Like you say, if they've got plenty of time for all that nonsense, then they should have time for the important bits.
Either its a load of bull, just to dramatise, or someone should get the sack. |

I think it's just to try and create tension. I can't imagine it coming to Louis "The person I'm going to send home tonight is......."
Dermot "Sorry Louis we've ran out of time. Join us next Saturday when one of these two WILL be going home". |

The Xtra Factor starts at 9pm. So if X Factor on ITV1 over runs then they have to delay the Xtra Factor on ITV2. Hence both channels will run late.

They don't go straight from the judges to the adverts though, they go from the judges to the interview with the losing contestant and the VT of the best bits, that is the item that would have to be cut short if the judges waffle on interminably. That isn't fair on the losing contestant.

Why bother haveing judges at all if when it comes down to it they are unable to judge
Why don't they follow strictly's example, the "judges" give their opinions but the public get to decide. Oh wait that might mean Simon not getting the winner he wants |
