stuttering badly on T825
Jiffyuk
08-11-2010
Hello

I have a Techwood AEDTR80S7 which is a Vestel T825 model.

Tonight, the stuttering is unbearable and unwatchable, especially BBC channels.

Everything has been fine up til now but came home this evening and my little un said tv was broken (bless). She was watching cbeebies and the screen looked like it had stopped as it was showing iggle piggle static. I thought she might have hit pause and paused live tv. She hadn't.

Coming out of the RF2 out, I run the aerial lead to the kitchen and this plugs into a SAGEM IDT68 box. The picture was perfect on all channels.

I reset the techwood box (by turning it off at the wall) and waited for it to come back up. Again there was stuttering on all channels but more noticeable on the BBC channels. It was unwatchable with the picture updating about every 20-30 seconds and then you are left with that still until the next update! On ITV, there was about half a second stutter and about 5 a minute.

I checked how full the hard drive was, which was about half full. I checked the timers and there is only one. Her indoors has set to record ugly betty and it set up for series record. I deleted this but did not stop the stuttering. Tried another power reset but to no avail.

I checked the signal and that was about 80% - 90 % and was showing very good.

My transmitter is the Hastings Relay.

I moved the Sagem box to underneath the TV (where the techwood lives) and plugged in the main aerial and the picture was fine with no stuttering. Her indoors is happy now that she can watch Eastenders and Coronation Street.

Any ideas?? Is the old box on the way out?

V13 software is a "parital fix" (not perfect!) to Vestel stuttering problems.

Which version does your box have ?

Note, this problem has nothing to do with "signal strength"!

I assume you know about Furtaura's website.
