Performers include Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Justin Bieber, Bon Jovi, Ke$ha, Usher, Pink, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry. Who do you think deserves to win most? And who would you like to see perform? |

I'm preparing myself for a Bieber fest. He will no doubt be this years Taylor Swift and win everything he's nominated for thanks to the hoards of fans constantly voting for him.
Gaga deserves the 'Artist of the Year' win, because she certainly was, but I don't think she will thanks to Bieber. In theory she should win 'Favourite Pop/Rock Female' over Ke$ha and Katy Perry because she has plenty more fans, but I wouldn't bet on it. If she does, I look forward to the camera panning to them again to see if they're worked on their 'sore loser' face haha. It's weird that The Fame Monster wasn't nominated in Best Album considering it was actually released as a separate record there I think. I'm looking forward to Christina's performance. I have a feeling it will be totally overshadowed though. Pink will probably pull something great out too...the rest, not so much. |

Kanye West needs to perform his new track with Rihanna it's gonna be ridiculously huge, and his album comes out the next day so it makes sense.

I would love a Kanye performance, maybe his song with Beyonce?
Really looking forward to most of those performances, it's gonna be a good year! |

Is that definately a single? It wouldn't make sense for only Rihanna to perform it with him, bit unfair on all the others!

Yep it's his next single and the album's released the day after the award show. Well the others are sort of background singers though they can be made out it also has Fergie from Black Eyed Peas, The Dream, John Legend so doubt they would ever be able to perform it properly.
As Rihanna sings the chorus and is the only prominent singer it would be most likely he would perform it with her out of anyone else. I mean how hard would it be to get Elton John there lol. |

With all respect, after the Taylor Swift fest last year and Gloriana beating Lady GaGa, the AMAs have lost all credibility. IMHO, the main award ceremonies are the Grammys and the MTV VMAs.

The VMAs have been a joke for years, it's all about the contraversiality now. The Grammies are like an industry joke, a big 'Hey, well done lads' of music. It's very corrupt, with the amount of deals and in-voting taking place. |

Are any award shows credible?

Newly announced performers are Black Eyed Peas, Enrique Iglesias with Pitbull and Carlos Santana.
Could Gaga make a surprise appearance? She's got three days off from her tour. What songs will Rihanna perform in her 9 minute medley? What's My Name, Only Girl, Umbrella? |

Of course they do. It's one of the big four, a.k.a. EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony).

To be fair, the Grammys are given to about a hundred artists, all from different genres of music. It's not all about Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, the Black Eyed Peas, Jay Z and the like there.
![]() The big awards are commercial. |

No they are not .. You can't tell me artists don't care if they win a Grammy
But only the big stars who won them. If they, for example, if they gave the Album Of The Year Award, just based on quality, no voting, just from subjective reviews, do you think Taylor Swift would have got it?

Looking forward to Christina's performance. It'll be nice to have someone who can actually sing live, and well. Wish she picked a better song though, 'Show Me How You Burlesque' would have been great. 'Express' kind of fizzles out.
Fully expecting for it to get totally overlooked though by Katy Perry having fireworks coming out her tits or something. Sorry, her 'heart'. The awards will be a mess too I imagine. Bieber will sweep no doubt. I wonder if Gaga will turn up? She has time off, but I don't recall seeing any airport paparazzi photos...so I guess she's still in Europe? |

Express.
It starts well and by the sounds of it they're rein-acting the film sequence with the mirrors etc. which will be cool. I dunno, I guess I just set my heart on her doing 'Show Me How You Burlesque' because she could begin with belting out the intro "...and you can't keep a good girl down" which would have been a nice empowering moment. Plus, she does the vocal run call outs with "say YEAHHHHHHHHH" etc. and she could have nailed the final "yeah" and really shown the others how a live vocal performance is done. |

I hope it's not a complete disaster like her last two award show performances. She actually mimed at the VMAs 2008.
The MTV Movie Awards performance was hardly a 'complete disaster'...what are you on about? Besides, she's knocked every live Burlesque song out of the park so far, so I don't see why you'd be even considering it would be a disaster because she mimed two years ago? |
