How accurate is the postcode checker on the BT website?

Has anyone here used it to check if they can get a phone line but later discovered they can't?

Do you live in the middle of nowhere ?
I would think it be ok (the checker) you could try Sam for a second opinion.

It depends, in other words it can't be relied on. Post Codes are for delivering mail - not DSL.

I know one Post Code locally that is over a mile long and that can make a very big difference in Line Rate. When our Post Code is punched into a sat nav, it directs one to a lane about 1 kM from our house.

Your best bet is to use the telephone number of a near neighbour.
