You mean, all that equality, tolerance and human rights stuff?

Yes, we definitely don't want any of that.

Bloody "permissives", they're almost as bad as dance purists they are.

Sometimes they do mention the "elephant" on SCD ITT but always with the most cringeing sickly OTT praise on how well she looks , how good her steps are, how entertaining she is etc etc etc .
As Private Eye used to say"pass the sick bag Alice".

Hold onto that thought, bobajot, it's a popular one and you win some brownie points for it.
If you ever feel generous enough to vote twice for her, please imagine that the second one is on my behalf (I ain't in UK, so can't vote).

Not an elephant, more of a graceful gazelle.

Nope, SCD is the anchor for Merlin.
Nobody can quite work out why Merlin with its dreadful storylines is so watchable. I suspect it's because of the brilliant casting. Colin and Brad would have me watching if they were simply reading out the alphabet, though Arther slamming a shield 'neath which Merlin is crouching is rather funnier.

Oh, Anton, that's just given me an idea for some brilliant choreography! are you on for it? Obviously our resident Nellie, being shorter, would fit better 'neath the shield.

'oxymoron' is good. There's protein in them there stock cubes.

All you have to do is not to vote for elephants unless they are bigger than Anton and dressed in wrinkly grey hides.

By the way, folks, the world's paradise for elephants is now Botswana. Has 120,000 of the lovely creatures, and they're all protected. Some of them are political refugees from neighbouring countries.
I suggest Botswana would be a good place for our annual conference on the theme "Room-bound elephants: how best to ignore them"

Please may I join the pact? I'll need a maternity tankini though or El Bumpo will get very cold...

Yes, indeed. Some of us are going to Botswana to check out the venue for our next AGM, so bikinis and sarongs are on general issue, and tankini, if you wish.

Here's your visa - chocolate ink on rice paper, and a first class Virgin space ship ticket (yers, straight up, straight down, there in a jiffy, bring yer own sandwiches)

Isn't the elephant in the room something people don't talk about? All I've heard for the past two weeks is people talking about the flipping elephant. It's all such a contrived piece of clumsy ratings-grabbing nonsense. Not even original either.

"Elephant in the room" is not necessarily a person.
In this case I take it to be the fact that a certain person cannot dance, has zero entertainment value, and doesn't look particularly good BUT the Beeb refuses to accept this. On ITT the person is always referred to in glowing terms or as said before in " the Emperor's new clothes"fashion.

Oh God I do wish I hadn't read that analogy. It conjured up an image so horrendous that I am fain to swoon at any moment.

No purists are harmless they are not out of there tree on drugs(including alcohol). Well they might hit the bottle if Wids flounders on.

She is an asset to the show.

Oh thank God, I thought it was just me who kept watching despite being unable to understand what was so interesting about it

Perhaps in deference to the sensibilities of elephant lovers we should change this to "The dinosaur in the room"

Some of us are dinosaur lovers though, so you have to find another analogy .

our manure heap helps us grow lots of lovely veggies and provides a safe habitat for hedgehogs throughout the winter , nought wrong with a properly built manure heap

Anyway, it would be very smelly, and thus much more difficult to ignore, wouldn't it.
