I would love to see Giles and Sue on SCD Their version of The Good Life last night had me in stitches. Nowthey would be entertaining and I will admit to a slight girl crush on Sue

I really like her dry, very dry humour.

Giles: There is no right or wrong in baking bread...
Sue and Giles together pointing (imitating the shouty Rosemary, their frightful teacher): NO THAT'S WRONG!!!

Giles (about making bread): It's trial and error.
Sue: More like errors. The trial will only come when I actually kill Rosemary (the teacher showing them how to bake the bread).

Sue (after seeing Giles walked into the kitchen with some chopped wood for the oven): It's like a beginning of a lumberjack porn movie... And you have wood!

I thought the two of them sitting cleaning their fingernails with their axes was hilarious.

Thought the programme was hilarious. I love Sue's dry sense of humour. She's a scream. They spark off each other really well.

Not sure either is right for SCD though!

I adore Giles Coren. He's short-tempered and a sarky sod but hilariously funny. Oh and he's flippin gaaaaawjus too.

Sue just rules in every possible way. Two of my favourite people on the tellybox.

He is rather dashing. And a "project", too. Boy does he need work. Just my type.

I only hope that Sue will not turn out to be an emotional wreak like Jan I-Hope-You-Are-Happy Ravens, it would be frightening. I mean, I loved Jan Raven's work until she appeared in SCD.

If Sue's in the show, I would very much hope she'll be with someone who has the same wit and sense of humour as her. Hmm, which male pro will be her intellectual match???

As for Giles, the fact he's fearful of chickens makes me think he's actually a softie who's been bullied in school. So someone who can mother him when they face the judges would be good, like Katya or Ola.

Sue looks kind of tall, and her being with Ian would work - if he were part of proceedings of course. Plus, they're both gay so there'd be none of the showmance/has Sue finally met her man? storyline crap.

Giles would need a tough pro, Katya or Erin.

I thought at one point the media was trying to suggest Ian was romantically close to one of his female celebs?

The producers have to feed the media with every angle to bag those headlines.

Oooh yes! Sue would be great with Ian

I think Katya and Giles would be a personality clash. Maybe Erin would be good though. Or Flavia?

Interestingly, Ian's had consistently good relationships with his female celeb partners - Denise, Zoe, Penny, Jodie, Jade et al.

A good deal of us gays, (and I'd hazard a guess perhaps Ian) get on well with most women.

He is camper than a row of pink glittery tents! Interesting to know who he was "linked" with.

Good thread. I love them both, I watched their food programmes and I had read Giles' email before (he is quite dishy in a toff sort of way). They should definitely take part in Strictly, it would be an absolute laugh. Did Sue not take part in the conduction reality show though, and I think she even turned out to be quite good.

Yeah, dome mentioned earlier in the thread - she won Maestro - with Goldie from this year's Strictly coming second!

Thanks. I should really read whole threads, shouldn't I. I'm pleased to hear Goldie did well, I quite liked him! I'm even more pleased Sue won though, she seems like a really lovely person.

Strictly come second! LOL and sad at the same time.
Along the same line this series of DWTS should be renamed Dancing with the Black Hole.

To get to the subject of this post.
I don't care much for mr Coren. Would rather see his sister.
But Sue, what an excellent idea. Delightful woman, who ticks all my boxes but one.

And let's get in Edgar Davids now that he has officially ended his career as a football player.

Bonkaz indeed! There are so many one-liners coming from her it would be long enough to form a washing line!
