Good to see Rihanna staying at number 1 and keeping Take That off the top spot.

Take That for no1.

Glad to see James Blunt enter the charts too, and that 'Highers' hanging on in there, considering it's been there for 12 weeks Obviously that combined with the album version too.

McFly's best single in ages . Pleased about that .
Also I predicted that Bobby Flack would re-enter chart after X-Factor performance from the singing painter . Good to see as well .

2010 has actually not been that bad a year for music .

In my opinion it's been one of the worse for a long time. The charts are full of throwaway "R&B" which will be forgotten about in 2 years.

Shame KOL are no longer in top 40... But their album is staying strong and TBH I would rather do well in albums then singles if I was a music artist.

I don't like the KOL, but the rest of your statement I agree with in regards to anyone I like.

Yeah, great to see a totally generic dance song at no.1 again

Best song on that list is P!nk - Raise Your Glass

But you have to appear on the X Factor to get a number one.

It is far from her best, which really it should be as its promoting her greatest hits. Disappointing.

I thought I was the only one who thought her song was crap.

Big drops for Cheryl...

I'm surprised Katy Perry's generic slight melody rip off song is hanging in there.

Only Girl couldn't be less generic, it's a full on anthem!!!

but i suppose it's all down to opinion and perspective! like Take That's The Flood doesn't do anything for me at all! i just find it to have no meat on it's bones really but i have heard the Progress album sample on You Tube and it sounds like their best album yet! including their 90's stuff! but The Flood doesn't do it justice for a 'comeback' style song.

anyways Rihanna all the way!!!! and her album LOUD is HUUUUUGE, easily one of the best of the year (alongside Janelle Monae, Gorillaz and The XX for me!)

I'm not a fan of Rihanna, although I can't deny she has done some good songs, but I just think Only Girl is one of those done-to-death 'club pop' songs - standard beats and lyrics, fairly catchy chorus which gets boring after a few plays, generally a song which has the clear intention of scoring a chart hit and nothing else. It won't be remembered in the future as a quality pop song. It's not even the most catchy of songs.

I think The Flood is another quality Take That pop anthem, of which they have become masters of since their comeback. But as I said in another thread, most TT fans are waiting for the album - which is almost guaranteed to be no.1 and sell massive amounts. Their fans aren't desperate for them to get a no.1 single, otherwise The Flood would be way ahead at this point in the week. It'll sound great live anyway, and at the end of the day (sorry for cliché) it's the music that matters.
