A quick Google brought this up http://www.tansee.com/iphonetransfer.html really not hard to find.

I am assuming that at work you will have to listen with headphones, so why not listen straight from the iPhone?

What are you trying to achieve? Do you just want to play your music through the work's PC speakers?

There is no way to access the music folder in a similar fashion to how you access the photos folder. The only way to get to it is through iTunes or one of the programs mentioned above.

But as kyussmondo asks, why not just listen through your phone? If you want to listen out loud and don't like the terrible sound quality from the iPhone's speaker, then perhaps invest in some cheap Bluetooth speakers? That way you can even keep your phone safe in your pocket while listening.

Surely you just plug it into a PC via USB (or Bluetooth as it is a fancy phone) and access the folder with the music on? Thats what I have done with all my phones and MP3 players.

apple don't allow disc access in that way. you need software to access the files. they also scramble the filenames when transferring media files to ipods/iphones, but if you do drag the files back to the pc with software the id tags are accessible

this is the main downside with itunes devices. drag and drop is so much better

Well I didn't know that! Does Jailbreaking not sort this out is has some other clever person not 'fixed' this 'bug'?

You can avoid iTunes for day to day stuff by using http://www.copytrans.net/copytransmanager.php

However you cannot completely remove itunes all together as you still need iTunes occasionally to access the iTunes Store or App Store and for software updates etc.

no, you can drag and drop files to the iphone once jailbroken if you use other software, but it doesn't show up like a flashdrive on another pc unless you use software. if you do drag and drop to the phone the music doesn't show up in itunes on the phone so you can't play it

it's just the way IOS is written specifically to prevent people doing this so they can't copy files
