Wonder who's going to dance around a roulette table, or pop out from behind a fruit machine, or even have a fake tacky wedding?

Jan, is that a 'Las Vegas' or a 'Jonny Vegas' theme?

Great.

Let's predict the songs, shall we?

Queen Of Hearts?
Spinning The Wheel?
Deck Of Cards?
Two Of Hearts?
The Gambler?
Ace Of Spades?

Yet another Moira Ross cheese-fest ...

They are obviously ressurecting the Samba for that week too because Ann has already said if she gets through this week that its Samba the following week.

I also think its long overdue that they do a group dance which I always love for the potential for disaster.

That's a bit insensitive, seeing as Blackpool was in the running for the first supercasino a few years ago and never got it.
Mind you, nor did anyone else.

And what sort of dances do they do in Las Vegas? Line dancing? Prancing about in feathery jewelled showgirl outfits?
Some sort of gobsmacking combination of the two?

If they resurrect the American Smooth it'll probably be to a Frank theme.....

All I can think of is Siegfried and Roy Heaven help us!

well the thing that comes to mind for me atm when people talk about Las Vegas is CSI

I will definatley be impressed if anyone manages to dance whist taking a DNA sample of test firing a gun

If anyone manages to persuade Grissom back I will be over the moon ( it just isn't the same without him ) and dont get me started on CSI Miami

I think one male celeb said it, but I can't remember who it was.

I couldn't watch it after he left because the show just wasn't the same.

Think about the costumes - Las Vegas show girls!

Coincidentally Rod Stewart starts a stint in Vegas very soon (cue Penny?)

Blackpool is revered by dancers the world over and I feel it is yet another tradition being Americanised.

Not sure if I've put over what I mean here - but I'm not happy about it.

It's like Donald Trump taking Edinburgh Castle and turning it into a theme park.

(A bit melodramatic I know )

RE songs - "From a Jack to a King" ?
I love "The Gambler" but it would have to be line dancing to that one - group dance anyone?

Blackpool is THE iconic place in ballroom dancing and that should be the main focus. It's magical on it's own and shouldn't be hosting a night honouring another place. Giving that week a Vegas theme is just wrong in my opinion! Really liked the Halloween special, but disappointed to hear about this theme night.

Yup
And the weekend that Strictly is in Blackpool Tower, the British Nationals are on in the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. Seeing as all of the pros have danced in The Winter Gardens in that competition or in the British Open in May, if they're not British, surely SCD should be focussing on that.
