The thing is for years Blackpool has tried to market itself as the Las Vegas of the north, so I can see where the idea for the theme has come from.


I love From 'A Jack To A King' and there is a slower version and a faster version - either could be used for several dances.

A group dancer to "The Gambler" would be good - or maybe get Kenny Rogers over to sing it for the pros to dance to?

The lasting image of Blackpool for me used to be Jill & Darren's Jive, but last year that was blown away by the stunning VW danced by the pros, with those amazing dresses and the huge chandeliers. I don't want that memory ruined.

Jimi was in my mind but I couldn't place where and when.

The problem with Tess is not so much that she says the same things every series, it's more that she says them the same way. I don't think she is scripted in her tower, so I wish she'd find new ways to vary that kind of stuff!

I think 'I want to get to Blackpool' was the most irritating and overused saying last year I forget who said it....wasn't it that actor? I can never remember his name (clearly he made a lasting impact on me )

I agree though that the cheesy themes are ruining the show. Blackpool should just be about Blackpool - the home of British Ballroom dancing. That should be enough.

On Dancing With The Stars, one celeb (Ian Ziering) had his breakthrough week when they put him in a white spangly suit and an Elvis wig. He completely forgot all his inhibitions and was fantastic. They jived to All Shook Up.
