From series 2, Sugar mentioned Nick's porn video's from the ad episode. From this series on episode 4, Sugar mentioned Nick's visit's to Amsterdam, and episode 6, Sugar says to Nick, "Reminds me of one of your friends midnight movie dvds". Sugar seems to know alot about what Nick, and his friend's get up to in their spare time or maybe Sugar is one of those friends?

I seem to remember Nick himself mentioned a blue video collection - or something similar to that - once as a joke in one of the earlier series, but I can't remember the exact context.

It's that what LS is referring at.

In series 2 on the ad episode when Sugar watched Ruth's team ad, he commented that he thought Nick had given him one of his private video's to watch instead, as it reminded him of "Debbie does Dallas". Seems Nick has moved with the times, and now has his porn collection on dvd's.

initially thought this thread title said "Sugars comments to Nick in the bedroom" which would have put this thread on a whole new level

he's getting nearer the knuckle isn't he.

specially when he's straight-laced if a contestant tries anything suggestive

True dat The scripted stuff is laboured. He can be funny though when he's pee'd off. Early series felt less scripted. Some of the exchanges with Paul Torrisi and later with Syed are good.

As regards Nick, his standard bio is that he's unmarried but has a long term partner called Catherine, whom he lives with in France. He collects tractors. Cue 'on the pull' jokes. Nick's background is PR. I did read something by someone who remembered him from the 70's (when he was starting out). He had a mop of curly hair (Leo Sayer like possibly?) and he had an office in Soho. As did, and still do, many non porn businesses. It was at the time the centre of the British film industry as well as a lot of other creative companies. I used to go there in the mid 80's for specialist graphic arts materials.

Actually Karren is the one with connections to the porn industry. Her long term business partner (sugar daddy) is David Sullivan (landlord for many Soho sex shaps). Sorry Birmingham FC and West Ham FC fans, your bankroll was/is porn money. Totally legit of course. Though you might like to google the name Mary Millington to find out what sort of foundations Sullivan, Brady and your clubs are built on. Sullivan employed Karren to increase the advert revenue from 'massage palours' and sex lines in the Daily Sport. Whih she did, and became a director as a result. That was her leg up, otherwise you'd have never have heard of her. Since then her business partners have sold their stake in top shelf mags and continued with their internet sites 'cos you can sell harder material' basically legit btw.

If Sugar makes a joke about Karren's porn background/ ongoing connection, I will eat one of Stubaggs socks. Though I reserve the right to wash it first. There isn't a chance in hell lol.

Too bad LS doesn't read this (I gather from some he did contribute on this forum in the early days) as I can see him doing just this and then inviting you to do the sock eating publicly for a YouTube clip!

His PR company does As do Taylor Herring, the PR firm for The Apprentice. I can't see him ever making public reference to where the money came from that bought Birmingham City FC and so gave Karren her big break. Her website's bio covers this in a single sentence and nowhere is David Sullivan mentioned. Nor that she became a director of one of his companies at the age of 20. Officially her cv starts three years later at Birmingham. In the 70's Sullivan made a fortune as the producer of the best known of the 70's soft core porn films starring his then gf, then ex, Mary Millington (even after her suicide). All legit btw and well before Karren's time. Still they have been business partners for the past 20 years and Sullivan still runs his porn empire.
Just think it's a bit ironic that's all Afterall, Birminghan City are known as 'The Blues' so surely there's a remark there But then Sugar doesn't get irony does he? Just a few sarky remarks to Nick.

Apologies. Irony should be used like a sharp knife, not the ****ing Great Frying Pan of Irony that I've borrowed from the Boleg Bros. (gives it back)

I quite like how he's gradually rebranding Nick as a sort of lech. Giving the fusty old straight man a dark side, that's fantastic.

I'm very fond of the idea that off-camera Nick's some kind of deranged hedonist. All midnight parties and coke off a prostitute's stomach.

Nick might be afterall, but Sugar?? His hobbies are cycling and having a yacht. According to one interview (non tabloid) he doesn't even read fiction or listen to music (!!). He hasn't the imagination (or anything to feed it) to 'really go for it' unless it's a deal of course. I would guess that Nick is by far the more interesting company. And always has been. And who knows what went on in the world of PR in the 70's & 80's. Dunno if his client list then included music and film companies
