You get apps by signing up for an iTunes Store account. You can set that up from the phone in Settings > Store or you can do it on iTunes on the computer. I would recommend being on wi-fi if you are going to do it from the phone itself. People can also gift you vouchers which you can also redeem on both the phone and iTunes on the computer.
iPhones do not take SD cards. I am guessing if you are buying a new iPhone and it is not a 4 then you probably have a 3GS which means you are limited to 8GB. It should tell you have much space you have by looking at the back of the iPhone. It should on iPhones previous to the 4 at least. |

Your iTunes account should stay signed in on the computer although it will ask you for a password every time you try to buy something for obvious security reasons. The new iTunes account should sync with your iPhone.
Yes, but you still need an account with valid credit/debit card info to get free apps. Receipts for paid apps are sent by email. |

What if i bought a itunes gift card would i still need to have credit or debit card details on? I do have a pay as u go Mastercard so may have to do it with that but do they take prepaid cards? |

I have tried to link Debit card which is a Visa Electron card but it keeps saying the card number is not valid and also it does it when i try to do it via click and buy so i take it that they dont take that card even if they do have the Visa electron logo on the click and buy bit?

Do people can still get 3GS's with accounts? My cousin bought an Iphone last month at Vodafone, and she could only get an IPhone4, not that she minded, but she thought she could get a cheaper option.
