When does the clowning around stop?

Anton has played a blinder by turning him and Ann into the resident comedy double act which works well with dances like the Charlston, but surely if and when they dance the Foxtrot, quickstep etc ( I can't remember what dances she has had so far) they are going to have to play it straight and then maybe the GBP will see how badly she dances and that she isn't worthy of her place on SCD....on the other hand Anton may ham up all the dances knowing whatever the Judges throw at them the GBP will save them!

She's doing the foxtrot this week and has already done the quickstep.

I fancy that this week Anton will play it straight, the judges will cringe but still have to be fairly nice to her. She will make it through to Blackpool next week because she has promised us Samba... (which will be another car crash television event)... and THEN HOPEFULLY (looks upwards) that may be the end of it...

I have a feeling Ann and Anton will be using all manner of props include fancy dress and maracas - they may even bring on a Brazilian samba band with them....

It just depends who goes this weekend. If there is a shock 2 weeks running (which there might be) the audience might just have had enough of her by the end of Blackpool. If not God help us.

Chris Parker managed to clown around to the final.

She'll outsee Michelle, Patsie, Gavin & Felicity I reckon

I don't like her dancing, I want her to go, but... do we need another thread on this?

I actually looked at this thread, because I thought this was about the general clowning around of all the couples, not just one.

I'm not sure about Patsy, but I think you're right with the rest. To be honest, that wouldn't really bother me too much either (apart from losing Brendan as I like to watch his dancing)

So sorry I didn't know the thread police were present!

I guess the clowning around stops when A&A get voted out. Can't see much of a change before that.

I'm not the thread police, so sorry if I offended you. You must admit though, there are a lot of similar threads around.

Even Chris Hollins asked for more emphasis on the dancing from now on

What would happen if one of the other couples did a proper comedy routine with proper dancing? Would it go down well, or would they be accused of copying A&A?

And who do you think would be able to do it?

No offence taken
Yes there are a lot of A&A threads but I was getting at the way Anton is milking the comedy aspect of their partnership, had Ann been paired with Brendan or James I feel sure she would have gone by now, Anton loves playing up to the Audience as much as Ann does!

Fair enough!

Of importance is if there is a tie among the couples placing above Ann. The more ties, the more placement points Ann will receive.

If the judges want to get rid of Ann then they'll need to make sure everyone above her has a unique score.

Couldn't that be perceived as rigging the outcome?

It would not be the first time for them to do just that.

Although I'm sure they would deny it.

I just ADORE Anton and Anne. Hilarious and I cannot wait each week to see what kind of routine they will do. Soon, they must run out of ideas and start trying to dance!!!!!!! Thank Goodness Anne got Anton as I cannot see any other professional dancer being able to cope with her and have such a grea sense of humour as Anton. They all take themselves rather seriously, don't they!!

So why aren't you posting this in the appreciation thread, instead of making us read it?
