Is this a typo....

The number of customers using BT's broadband network increased by 33% in the quarter to 253,000.

The group's broadband television service BT Vision added 24,000 customers, bringing the total to 520,000.
I.e is that article saying there are only 253,000 BT BB customers, but 520,000 BTV customers?

Do you not need BTBB in order to receive BTV? So the BB figure should at least be equal to BTV, no?

Still, 520,000 BT Vision customers - well done!

Per BT press release (page 7):

"We saw an increase of a third in the take up of BT Vision with 24,000 net additions in the quarter and our customer base currently stands at 520,000. Of these, over 50,000 have taken our Sky Sports service which commenced broadcasting in August."

"It was a good quarter in broadband with net additions of 114,000"

No figure given for broadband customer base but it must be many millions.

Also from Page 7.

"The BBC iPlayer will also be added to our BT Vision service and will be rolled out to our customer base during the second half of the year"

Is this start of the end of the Replay function with YouView coming in the first half of next year ?

oh and BT does not have 253 000 BB customers lol, in fact it has 43% of the market share in broadband and with 19 million having broadband in there homes BT therefore have over 8 million broadband customers

http://www.statistics.gov.uk/cci/nugget.asp?id=8

it was 40% share in the last quarter

Fair enough - so it was a typo then, or did the 253,000 refer to something else?

BT said 253,000 customers were added by companies using BT's network in the three months to September 30 and 45% - or 114,000 - of these connected using BT's own broadband service. - http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukp...1289462269419A

BT's retail broadband ISP subscriber base increased by 114,000 to hit a total of 5,341,000 - http://www.ispreview.co.uk/story/201...customers.html

Oh so many figures, so many figures!

Guys,

We don't need to fight our own corner.

Even though we are a minority service (apart from BT BB that is), WE like what we use and are happy with it!

Don't rise to the bait.

Cheers.
